DT 770 PRO 80 ohm Over-ear Closed-back Studio Headphones

These headphones have almost become a 'gateway drug' into the world of hi-end, audiophile-grade headphones, and it is incredibly easy to see why. First and foremost, the price of (approx) £100 represents exceptional value for money. I'm a headphone guy, and can think of few headphones which offer so much for such relatively little in terms of initial investment. Make no mistake, the DT770 Pro is a HUGE step up from headphones in the £60 - £90 range. Not that there's anything wrong with cheaper headphones, but the Beyer's are in a different league entirely... Second, they are incredibly well built. BeyerDynamic have gone for utilitarian design rather than fashion statement, and this is a good thing. From the sturdy headband to the supremely comfortable ear cups to the thick, high quality cable, these cans will stand up to real world abuse. Finally, and most importantly, the quality of sound is phenomenal. Some listeners have criticised the DT770's as having weak mid range response, but honestly, even though I agree with the criticism, I can honestly say it has not spoiled my listening enjoyment in any way. I listen to an eclectic range of music, from the harshest Norwegian Black Metal, to Dark Wave & Gothic Rock to the bleepiest synthesizer music & chiptunes to the cheesiest 80's pop - these headphones exceed my expectations. There is a price to pay, however, and that is: For headphones in this category, you really do need to provide as hi-fidelity source signal as possible. Don't imagine for one minute that your 128k MP3 files will sound great through these headphones - they will not. The DT770's will show up a poor quality source for what it is. My personal setup consists of a laptop connected to a USB DAC & AMP combo which drives the DT770's. I'm also quite specific about buying digital music in as higher quality as I can. The FLAC vs 320k MP3 can be debated all day, but my own preference is 24-bit or 16-bit FLAC files. Regarding the weak mids, some people prefer to introduce a software or hardware EQ to sort this out. Whilst this may be ok, I'd rather not introduce noise into the chain and enjoy the sounds as rendered by the DT770's unaided. Your mileage may vary, of course... So to summarise, you really can't do much wrong by investing in a pair of DT770's if you want to move up to the next level, but don't want to sink £500 or more on a set of headphones. Also, don't be scared off by the 250 Ohm rating. In my experience, I have yet to find a source which struggles to drive them. My ageing Nexus 4 phone will drive them, albeit with a maxed out volume (so I avoid this generally), my cheap USB audio interface (Lexicon Alpha) drives them superbly and even my laptop (HP Elitebook 8560w) will drive them on full volume, but again - I'd rather just use my USB DAC & Amp (Fiio E7). If you're in the market for a fantastic pair of closed back headphones, I'd have a serious look at the BeyerDynamic DT770's. Recommended without hesitation.

I’ll admit I had a bit of a hassle with delivery when I first received these headphones and I wasn’t impressed at first. But I’m not letting that taint the rest of the experience because once I got these headphones in hand from their own website, the performance more than won me over. From the moment I plugged them in I was struck by just how clean and balanced the sound is. The bass is deep without being muddy, the mids are precise and the highs are clear and extended, perfect for when I’m mixing music, listening beats or just relaxing with some tunes. What really impresses is how comfortable they are. The over ear design and cushioned padding mean I can use them for hours without fatigue and eventually you just forget that they are even on your head. They feel solid and well built rather than flimsy and the closed back design does a good job at isolating outside noise, so I can stay fully immersed even in a busy environment. The 80 ohm impedance offers a sweet spot of clarity and volume without needing a dedicated amplifier if I’m just plugging into my laptop. Overall this has become my go to set of headphones. The quality, detail and comfort combine to deliver a top tier listening and mixing experience. Despite the rough delivery start the end result speaks for itself these are easily among the best headphones I’ve used.

What can i say.. first off let me say one thing if you're considering these and you own a gaming headset then do it! Don't hesitate. I got these coming from using Nari Ultimate gaming headphones they done the job the haptic was too overpowered and audio was muddy for the most part.. when i moved to these wow what a difference! I can hear things in games i never could before mainly the crunching of my footsteps on lethal company! The audio is so crisp and clear it's night and day. Listening to music is a joy as well. I find these to be really comfy they're light enough that my head/neck doesn't get fatigued like it did with my old headset. The wire is more than long enough that i never notice it and i keep it to my left so it's never in the way. I have mine paired with a little dac for extra oomph but they do work plugged directly into the pc. I have the 80ohm version i think for me a dac is important as i like a bigger range in volume. Build quality seems really good i like how easily replacing the foam and earpads will be and i can see these lasting a very long time. Overall a huge step up from gaming headsets and there's no need for any extra software wich was the icing on the cake for me. If you already use a seperate mic like me then consider a pair like this. Moving to proper headphones was my main reason for getting these i didn't want to sacrifice audio quality for rgb, built in mic, volume dials etc i just didn't want any of that anymore. Don't get me wrong it's ok if you like that but proper headphones are on another level no gimmicks just good audio. Highly recommend these

Been using for a long time now and the audio quality is great and they are very comfortable however some of the plastic theyve used to hold the headphones together is quite brittle and is prone to snapping, I have previously had a pair replaced because they fell apart on me so you've got to be careful when handling these, especially be careful for the wire wrapping around the armrest of your chair and then when you spin your chair around to get up it pulls the headphones off the desk and drops them onto the floor. (trust me) The manufacturer does sell a replacement part and you can pretty easily find a replacement 3D file if you have access to 3D printers so thats something to keep in mind aswell.

Ich werde in dieser Rezension (welche gleichzeitig meine erste ist) einen kleinen Vergleich zwischen drei Kopfhörern/Headsets aufstellen, welche vorrangig für Gaming auf der PS4 und Filme dienen sollen: Sony PS4 Wireless 2.0 Headset Astro A50 Wireless Headset Beyerdynamic DT-770 PRO (80 Ohm) Diese Rezension wird uninteressant für diejenigen sein, die hauptsächlich Musik hören wollen. Ebenso benötige ich die Headsets/Kopfhörer nur für den Sound selbst, Multiplayer-Spiele spiele ich eigentlich nie, daher ist mir ein Mikrophon für Chats nicht wichtig. Bis vor einem halben Jahr habe ich Filme oder Spiele immer über TV-Lautsprecher "genossen". Ich bin also weder audiophil (so langsam hasse ich dieses Wort), noch habe ich große Erfahrung in der großen weiten Audiowelt. Ich entschloss mich aber dennoch dazu, auch mal etwas am Sound zu ändern. Per Zufall kam ich auf das aktuelle PS4 Wireless 2.0 Headset, welches ich dann auch aufgrund der vielen positiven Rezensionen kaufte. Zunächst war ich auch sehr zufrieden damit, was aber nicht großartig verwunderlich ist, da ich vorher nur TV-Lautsprecher kannte. Das Headset ist an sich sehr schick und passt natürlich optisch super zur PS4. Es ist zwar komplett aus Plastik verarbeitet, allerdings fühlt es sich nicht minderwertig an und dem Preis von 99 Euro absolut entsprechend. Nachdem ich mir zwischenzeitlich eine Soundbar zulegte, habe ich schnell gemerkt, dass das PS4 Wireless 2.0 Headset absolut keinen Bass hat. Durch vieles Lesen in Foren bekam ich ein bisschen den Eindruck, dass es fast schon verpöhnt ist, einen ordentlichen und wuchtigen Bass zu mögen. Ich verstehe allerdings nicht warum, es muss ja nicht jeder ein professioneller Spieler von Egoshootern sein, dem es nur auf die hohen und mittleren Töne ankommt. Für Filme und Actionspiele ist ein schöner wuchtiger Bass meiner Meinung nach absolut unverzichtbar. So kam ich also auf das Astro A50 Headset, welches anhand der Rezensionen einen sehr guten Bass haben sollte, mich allerdings aufgrund des hohen Preises (300 Euro) abschreckte. Ich habe mich trotzdem dazu entschlossen es zu bestellen und es einfach mal auszuprobieren, zurückschicken ist ja kein Problem. Gesagt getan, der Sound hat mich absolut überzeugt. Tolles Subwoofer-Feeling, grandioser Surroundeffekt und auch der Komfort war deutlich besser als bei dem Sony-Modell. Auch wenn das Astro 200 Euro teurer als das Sony ist, wollte ich es dennoch behalten. Das bekannte leichte Surren in der rechten Ohrmuschel war zwar etwas nervig, im normalen Spiel- bzw. Filmbetrieb war es jedoch nicht wahrzunehmen. Ob dies für 300 Euro jedoch gerechtfertigt ist, halte ich für absolut fragwürdig. Das müsste besser gehen. Das Informieren und intensive Forenlesen über Headsets bzw. Kopfhörer gab mir auch nach Erwerb des Astro keine Ruhe. So kam ich also auf die von vielen hochgelobte Kombination eines Hifi-Kopfhörers, in diesem Fall der Beyerdynamic DT-770 PRO (80 Ohm), plus Surround Sound Processor für die PS4. Die gängigsten sind hierbei das Astro Mixamp oder das Turtle Beach DSS2. Ich bestellte also die Beyerdynamic Kopfhörer + Mixamp (stolze 130 Euro für den Mixamp), jedoch hörte ich ab mittlerer Lautstärke ein sehr nerviges konstantes Rauschen, welches für mich persönlich sogar störender war als das Surren des Astro A50. Dies hatte allerdings mit dem Mixamp zu tun, die Kopfhörer habe ich vorher kurz mit Musik ausprobiert, hier war natürlich garkein Rauschen zu vernehmen. Überraschenderweise war auch der Bass in meinen Augen sehr enttäuschend, egal auf welchem Equalizer Mode. Da für mich Chat im Spiel sowieso keine Rolle spielt, bestellte ich noch das DSS2 von Turtle Beach, welches nur 60 Euro kostet, dafür aber Schwierigkeiten bei einer Mikrofonintegration bieten soll. Naja, war mir egal, brauche ich sowieso nicht. Diese Kombination hat mich absolut überzeugt. Sehr guter und klarer Sound, absolut kein Rauschen und das egal auf welcher Lautstärke. Der Bass ist mindestens genauso wuchtig wie beim Astro Headset, allerdings deutlich angenehmer für die Ohren. Die Lautstärke kann beim DT-770 mit DSS2 im Vergleich zum Astro und Sony nicht so weit hochgeregelt werden, ist aber dennoch absolut ausreichend. Ich schätze, dass ich die Lautstärke meist auf ca. 70 % habe. Jedoch muss ich zugeben, dass die Soundqualität insgesamt nicht außerordentlich viel besser ist als beim Astro, wie viele immer behaupten. Das mag vielleicht für Audiophile (wieder dieses Wort) so sein, für Ottonormalverbraucher sollte der Unterschied soundtechnisch nicht allzugroß ausfallen. Man hört einen Unterschied zu Gunsten der DT-770, ja, aber ob das so weltbewegend bei Spielen und Filmen ist?! Das Astro Headset wird von den „HiFi-Fachleuten“ gnadenlos zerrissen, soundtechnisch ist es meiner Ansicht nach aber ziemlich gut. Das Sony Headset nehme ich hier mal raus, das kann für mich aufgrund des fehlenden Basses sowieso nicht mithalten. Nun kommen wir zu den aus meiner Sicht eigentlichen Vorteilen des Beyerdynamic: Materialverarbeitung, Ersatzteilverfügbarkeit und Preis. Nimmt man den DT-770 in die Hand, merkt man sofort, dass dieses Teil einfach solide verarbeitet ist und dank des Federstahlbügels im Prinzip nicht kaputt gehen kann. Kolportierte Lebenszeiten von zehn Jahren und mehr kann ich mir durchaus vorstellen. Wenn auch die beiden anderen hier erwähnten Headsets solide verarbeitet sind, weisen sie dennoch durch den hohen Plastikanteil zuviele mögliche Bruchstellen auf. Zudem kann man beim Beyerdynamic für den gesamtem Kopfhörer Ersatzteile bekommen, bei den anderen Modellen überhaupt nicht. Besonders die tauschbaren Ohr- sowie Bügelpolster sind absolut ein Muss, wie ich mittlerweile finde. Hier können Sony und Astro einfach nicht mithalten. Der Tragekomfort ist beim DT-770 sehr gut, da die Ohrpolster (Velours) sehr groß sind und genug Platz für die Ohren bieten. Ich persönlich finde jedoch, dass der Anpressdruck des DT-770 etwas zu hoch ist. Dem kann aber Abhilfe geschaffen werden, wenn man diese einfach ein paar Tage, wenn sie gerade nicht getragen werden, um den Karton klemmt, in welchem sie verpackt waren. Ein paar Bücher tun es natürlich auch. Ich merke hier schon eine deutliche Verbesserung. Preislich kommen die Beyerdynamic verglichen zu den Astros natürlich sehr gut weg, hier stehen 300 Euro für die Astros und 210 Euro (150 Kopfhörer + 60 Euro DSS2) für die Beyerdynamic mit PS4 kompatiblem Setup gegenüber. Die Sony für 99 Euro sind in ihrer Preisklasse wohl ziemlich gut, können aber mit den anderen Beiden einfach nicht mithalten. Wie natürlich aufgefallen ist, vergleiche ich hier einen kabelgebundenen Kopfhörer mit zwei kabellosen Headsets. Ebenso sei nochmal gesagt, dass das Mikro egal ist, denn ich brauche es nicht. Wireless ist echt toll und super komfortabel, Störungen sind bei mir auch nicht aufgetreten. Jedoch kann man sich durchaus damit abfinden, ein Kabelgebundenes zu benutzen, wie ich finde. Das Kabel des DT-770 ist immerhin 3 Meter lang und so schlimm ist es nun wirklich nicht, wenn man ein Kabel von der Konsole zur Couch liegen hat. Daher möchte ich das Kabel nicht als allzugroßen Nachteil des DT-770 darstellen. Aber das ist Geschmackssache. Als Fazit kann ich sagen, dass der DT-770 in Verbindung mit einem DSS2 den anderen hier angesprochenen Headsets definitiv überlegen ist, wenn auch soundtechnisch meiner Meinung nach nicht so sehr wie oft gepriesen wird. Das A50 wird, finde ich, soundtechnisch von den Foren etwas zu schlecht geredet, die Kluft ist meines Erachtens nicht so groß zum DT-770. Der Preis von 300 Euro ist allerdings einfach zu hoch. Das Sony Headset kann nicht wirklich konkurrieren, liegt jedoch auch in einer ganz anderen Preisklasse. Preis, Qualität und Verfügbarkeit der Ersatzteile machen den Beyerdynamic Kopfhörer einfach unschlagbar. Wahrscheinlich hat man so „ein Leben lang“ ausgesorgt. Gaming Headsets wie von Astro oder Sony muss man vermutlich alle 2-3 Jahre teuer neukaufen.

A great pair of headphones, definitely an upgrade over my previous set of AKG K92s. The highs and lows are much clearer, and I’m hearing parts of songs that I didn’t hear before. Additionally, the material quality is very nice and the ear-cups are much better at reducing outside noise.

Great sound and the pads are very very comfortable.

J'ai acheté ce beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 80 Ohms il y a environ 1an et demi pour compléter ma configuration PC, et je ne regrette absolument pas mon choix. Au point de l'avoir même recommandé à des amis ! Avant, j'avais un casque gaming "classique" et la différence est juste frappante. Le son est d'une clarté incroyable et c'est avec ce genre de matériel que l'on s'aperçoit de la qualité son d'un casque professionnel. Aujourd'hui je l'utilise pour toutes mes activités, que ce soit du gaming, écouter de la musique, travailler, etc.. Et il est top dans tous les domaines ! Même niveau confort. Les oreillettes sont super agréables, même après l'avoir utilisé pendant plusieurs heures d'affilée. Ayant une paire de lunettes, avec d'anciens casques j'étais souvent ennuyé dans la mesure où ça devenait vite inconfortable, mais là c'est complètement différent. L'arceau est également rembourré, ce qui fait que l'on ne sent même plus que l'on porte le casque sur la tête assez rapidement. Il a également un très bonne isolation, fini les casques ou on entend tout ce qu'il se passe autour comme si l'on en portait pas. Il étouffe bien les sons extérieurs, ce qui contribue à la qualité de son qu'il émet. Les oreillettes sont facilement détachables, il donc aussi possible de les laver à la main facilement avec un peu d'eau tiède et de la lessive, pour ensuite les mettre à sécher simplement. Bref... C'est un casque vraiment polyvalent ! Le câble Jack est relativement long, ce qui fait que même s'il est destiné avant tout à une application fixe dans un studio de musique/radio ou pour un ordinateur de bureau par exemple, cela n'empêche pas de le transporter dans la mesure ou le casque est même vendu avec un petit sac prévu à cet effet. Si vous êtes à la recherche d'un casque, solide, confortable, professionnel et avec une très bonne qualité de son, le DT 770 PRO est un excellent investissement.

los mios me llegaron antes y logicamente toda una sorpresa para bien,servicio de entrega de primera, el paquete intacto todo en su lugar, ya puestos se puede trabajar horas sin problemas gracias a la calidad de sus orejeras aterciopeladas en este caso color gris los hacen comodos, la diadema tambien es acolchonada y muy comoda, sin duda beyerdynamic DT-770-PRO-32, 250 ohms de mis concentidos, en el estudio me permite trabajar cómodamente y de manera precisa, lógicamente trabajo con diferentes marcas y versiones pues necesitas comparar tu monitoreo pero sin duda la calidad de materiales, asi como la confiabilidad de su sonido a nivel profesional hace que los legendarios DT-770-PRO-32,sigan siendo lo que siempre han sido,toda una leyenda, cada frecuencia en su lugar con una imagen stereofonica abierta que te permite reconocer cada instrumento con balance bien definido captando cada detalle de tu mezcla , un tip para los casos en donde no necesariamente se usen en estudio de audio pero se conecten a dispositivos moviles, ipod, tablets, etc.,las versiones en 32 o 80 ohm, serian la recomendación,sin duda una herramienta de escucha confiable en todos sentidos que recomiendo !.
