Compensates for an inability to draw.
I really really cannot draw, and as trying embroidery for the first time i thought that i would need some help to with designs and with ideas on what to do. Doodle stitching seemed like a fun way to discover new stitches and try them out, before committing to larger design pieces. This book has so many options, with pictures grouped together in themes. I have a four year old niece, who did mistake this as a colouring in book, so best kept away from children. Thankfully as the designs are made in a clear black outline i was able to trace her favourite pictures onto paper with ease, which she later coloured in and i embroidered. This had made a lovely gift for her, as she feels that we did this together (which we did). Some of the designs are pretty florals and mandalas, abstract tree's etc. others are cute animals, mythical creatures and seasonal pages will be fantastic for making into cards. I have not used the potenital to iron on the designs, as i have cheaper fabric (still learning) i was able to trace through the fabric using a fabric pen with ease. I am saving the iron feature for when i have thicker better quality fabric, and not less likely to make huge errors (being cautious as very new to this). This book is great fun, with tons of ideas and has helped me get hooked onto embroidery. The spiral bind assists with laying the book flat, which makes it easier to trace items too. I am very happy with this book, which i will no doubt continue to find uses for. I also feel that this would make a great gift, for someone looking into a new hobby.

Great purchase
Very lovely designs, easy to transfer, The explanations are easy to follow and at the back there's a pocket in case you cut the designs to iron them. As a start for embroidery, I find it very useful and lovely. Great quality.

Something for Everyone, Ideal for Beginners or Experienced Embroiderers
I purchased this as a gift for a family member but was so impressed by it I have ordered myself one as well. The book is primarily the transfer pages, but the book starts by explaining what tools you will need to transfer and embroider the designs on as wel as different stitch techniques. I am a novice when it comes to embroidery - I love to sew, but have always struggled with it, but it has been good inspiration. I like that the images come in a variety of sizes, so you can practice on smaller images before moving onto larger images. There is a huge variety - there are flowers, different foods, animals, and some random designs like the mermaid and elephant shown on the front as well as includes lettering, numbers and "inspirational words". There is such a wide variety, I think it would be ideal for most people. There is something for everyone. They are easy to reuse and the envelope is on the back inside cover of the book and is a great size for storing used transfers. I would highly recommend to someone looking for some new embroidery inspiration! Ideal for beginners or someone with experience.

Lovely designs
Lovely designs. Excellent for a novice due to the stitch guide at the beginning. Full instructions on how to use the transfer pack and a handy wallet at the back to keep your cut outs. The variety of designs is amazing.

I love embroidery, but don't always find the time for it. When I do, the painstaking process of transferring a design from a book to tracing paper/carbon paper and then the cloth was the most time-consuming. This book makes it a matter of seconds. The transfer process is easy, and the design appears on the cloth very clearly. Love it. The designs are lovely too. Wish there were pics of completed projects in the book though - would help newbie embroiders who don't know how to use colour schemes etc

These templates are so much fun!! I was a little hesitant to order them not knowing what they all looked like beforehand and upon receiving them I wasn't quite as sure either, since they are in a much different style than I usually do. However, these totally broke me out of my comfort zone and I'm having so much fun! My go-to with embroidery has been flowers, letters, basic stitches, etc. This was my first project using satin stitch and I LOVED how it turned out! There's a good variety of templates, some targeted more specifically towards children, but they would be really cute on children's clothes or a baby blanket. It takes the guesswork out of coming up with a design and drawing it out - lets you skip right to the fun part! The only thing I'd note is that the ink is pretty dark once it's ironed onto the fabric, and it is NOT washable. Once it's ironed on it's permanent! After being so used to using nonpermanent fabric markers I usually treat the template as a guideline rather than a direct template, but with these you have to cover the ink completely or it will show through. I didn't see this mentioned in any of the other reviews or product description, so just be aware of that. One fix I thought of for this though is ironing it onto the backside of the fabric and then using a fabric marker to trace it on the front (holding it up to the light). Depending on the fabric color and type this may not work as well but it's a good workaround if you're working with thin lines or want to deviate from the pattern a little bit. Overall, I'm so glad I ordered these and I can't wait to make more of them!

Ottimo acquisto

It's perfect! I love embroidering, but it can be hard to come up with an idea and draw it on the fabric, this solves both of those problems!
