Astra Depot Forward Controls Pegs Levers Linkages Compatible with Harley Sportster XL 1200 883 2014-2022 (Black)

Installed this kit on my 2014 XL883 Superlow. Truly horrible instructions, but not too hard to figure out once you lay everything out and compare to original controls. Lots of room for these if you have a factory moustache bar as I have on my bike, at least 3" of clearance. One review said you had to remove the front lower exhaust pipe and muffler to remove the stock mid-mount controls - NOT TRUE! I made a 1" bit cut from an Allen Wrench and turned it with a ratcheting wrench, no problem! Someone also said these are weak, but they seem strong to me, nice finish. Less than half the price of HD - I'll take 'em!

I took a chance on this product when it had no reviews. I was pleasantly surprised. Everything fit properly, all parts were in the package and it seems robust. The hardest part of the installation was having to remove the bottom muffler to get to the star bolt on the original setup and install the new screw for the brake rod. Lots of ads say this setup won't work with 2 into one exhaust, engine guards and crash bars. I have a mustache type crash guard and everything fits perfectly. Look at what I have in my photos and if you have nearly the same, I would assume everything will fit. Overall, I would highly recommend this setup. Just make sure you use a generous amount of blue Lock Tite.

Put together with the very crappy instructions that are included and they are just very wobbly. Everything is tight down but the parts just don’t seem to fit well. Do not recommend

I’ve recently started modding my sporty to a Bobber. These fit on a 2020 iron 883. The instructions are laughable, but I’m a beginner and a few YouTube videos later I had these on in about an hour or 2. I think I spent more time trying to psych myself up that I could do it. Install itself was easy enough, nothing was misaligned or damaged or anything like that. They look nice, I’m happy with them. They are lighter and flex a bit, but I hardly notice and doubt they are even flexing when I’m riding. I took a star due to instructions and the fact that I was missing a spring washer; They could also be stronger but it’s not like they are weak. But I do recommend if you aren’t willing to shell out 500 bucks for Harley’s, especially if you’re not even sure you’ll like forward controls (you’re crazy if you don’t after you feel how badass it is to ride with them). If the manufacturer is reading this, I would gladly pay double if you could make these controls 50 percent stronger quality and make an install video. Note to newbies like myself: BEWARE when installing the rear brake rod, the nut head to keep the threaded bolt from spinning in hiding under the rubber boot where the spring hides. IT IS NOT THE NUT THAT YOU CAN SEE. YOUR ROD WILL FALL OFF. 2020 model at least.

They’re good. I would never trust them with my full body weight but good quality! Just make sure you add loctite!

My Iron 883 is so much more comfortable and fun with these forward controls. All of the hardware was included. I did reuse the original mounting bolts so that I could feel good about torquing them to Harley specs. I used blue Locktite on ALL bolts except - the shifter foot stud; I assumed it was already torqued- it wasn't. It fell off while riding and I never found it. Hey Astra Depot - can send me another?? Anyway, I had to reuse the original - threads don't match. Just LOCKTITE EVERYTHING! Torque the mounting bolts to Harley specs and you'll be fine.

Quite pleased with these. They look good and feel good. Instructions were not good quality.

Years ago I bought aftermarket forward controls for a Sportster and they were kind of wobbly and fitted badly. They did the job but didn't give a lot of confidence. These feel strong and firm. The instructions are pretty bad, they're basically just a diagram, so you'll have to figure it out yourself as you go.

This system is solid and well engineered. Fits nicely on my 2013 XL883L Super Low. The brake side is 100% solid and functional. The shifter side is a tiny bit loose where the shift lever interacts with the mounting bracket. It is held on with a spring u clip and a bolt so it won’t fall out. I would buy this again but maybe try a thin shim to remove the play on the shifter side. This is a nice forward control package. I recommend this item.

Directions could use a little work but the actual controls are great, everything fit and all of the hardware to install it was with it. Best mod I've made to this bike yet.

Final update. I've changed my rating to 3 stars because the seller did, eventually, refund my money. Luckily I found cheap shipping so I'm only out a couple bucks. Take this experience as you will. I might buy from them again, but I would be very, very careful reading the description. Update, seller wants me to return item at my cost. Nowhere in the description does it say returns will cost. Seller offered me a 20% refund. I'm am not pleased at all. I will never buy from this seller again. Good quality parts and fairly simple installation, however I had to return. Description states billet aluminum, but I think it's cast. I'm 260 pounds and when I put a little pressure on the post after install, it flexed at least a quarter inch. Would probably work for a less beefy individual but I'll be ordering steel instead.
