Buy well, buy once. Or twice, if you need two :D
I bought a pair of these for my girlfriend about seven years ago and they're still as good as they ever were. I bought Felco's diamond sharpening stone too and along with common sense maintenance I can honestly see them lasting a lifetime. My mum needed a new pair of secateurs - she has a drawer full of cheap ones, I did my best to fix them up but they're just not good, they're semi-disposable really. So I bought another pair of Felcos and she's extremely pleased. I'll keep on top of the maintenance for her but putting them side by side with a knock off pair she has was laughable. I don't really garden myself (well I do, but I don't love it!) but I like my tools and appreciate a well made precision tool when I see it. There's tools you buy for an odd job that you probably won't use again, so a cheaper one might do. Then there's tools that will be a mainstay of your longterm hobby or work and it's always worth buying the best you can, both economically and for the best results. Secateurs definitely fall into that category as they'll potentially see decades of year-round usage. The fact that the Felcos can be easily maintained, stripped down, have their parts replaced and the business end is made from extremely high quality steel (they come with a precise cutting edge that will pass the "paper test") means that for less than £50 they're a sensible investment. I use a variety of cutting tools in my hobbies and the Felcos are as good as any of them. So, don't have a drawer full of rusty blunted tools! It's a shame that people replace their secateurs when they stop cutting or functioning as they should, whether that's through lack of maintenance or just buying the cheapest ones they can. It's wasteful and a false economy. Grab a pair of Felcos, maintain them, and you'll have years of gardening joy (whatever that is!).

Simply the best!
I can certainly vouch for the Felco 2 secateurs as I now have two pairs of them! I brought the first pair for my wife 16 years ago and they have been superb. I do keep those sharp and oiled, and that’s a pleasure to do also for such high quality items, part of the joy of owning them in fact. Problem came when we were both out in the garden and when I needed a pair to have in the van...so....looked around at cheaper items, both on Amazon and also in "real life stores" (gosh, shock, horror!). Once you have had a pair of Felcos, you really are just never going to be satisfied with anything else! So, I dug deep and splashed out on a second pair. Interesting that whilst I had kept the others in super condition, the new ones are of course amazing! The quality is still the same, the look and feel the same and yes....I even checked them on the kitchen scales to see if they weighed the same - they do! So, these are the same, top quality items that they always were. Supplied with a very, very sharp blade too – be careful! Yes, lots of cheaper ones around, and yes these are pricey. Here you get what you pay for. However, they really do the job with ease, they are comfortable, they feel great in the hand and they are made to out last anything else you could buy. I have stuck with the model 2 on both occasions as I just like them but would be sure the others in the range would have the same qualities. I might even look to see what other products Felco do as I am a bit of a critic normally with tools and these are even up to my exacting standards! So, if you want a treat and want something really amazing that will last, then don’t hesitate, these are the top choice. A pleasure to use and own.

Great pair of secateurs for the smaller hand.
I've been using Felco secateurs for over thirty years and find them incomparable to cheaper copies, I don't know why but they just out perform secateurs that look identical to Felcos. They continue to be the choice of professionals so that tells you something. I use a Felco 2 as it is a full size professional pair of secateurs. I bought these Felco 6 as a present for me mum as they are slightly smaller and I think she'll find them just right for her hand. I bought a pair of Felco 6 secateurs many years ago and found them to have all the wonderful robustness, sharpness etc that I'd come to expect from Felco. They are perfect for dead-heading, cut flowers, and smaller pruning jobs. For general gardening and the ability to prune stems of a diameter of an inch or more I'd always choose Felco 2... but I think many women would enjoy the smaller Felco 6...the jaws open a little less but they are precise and light in the hand. The info on the box says the secateurs can cut up to 0.8 inches and is suitable for a medium hand. Perfect lady secateurs I'd say...for larger pruning use a pair of loppers.

There is no arguing with the quality. If you treat them right they will be with you for many years. Sharp, precise, and great for general purpose pruning everywhere. If you are looking for a gift you can’t go wrong with the F2.

Great quality and ideal for small hands (I'm 5 ft 2). Cuts up to 2 cm stems quite easily. They don't sell them at the local diy stores so thanks Amazon.

top. it looks great, it feels great in the hand, excelent quality. Size wise is medium but can really fit well in small hands or large hands. I was in between felco 2 and felco 11, I choose the 11 as it is a bit more refined and made of steel, less bulky than the felco 2, better suited for delicate cuts, just what I needed. well worth the expensive price; I just had to throw 2 other secateurs that I had for not such long time, some cheaper ones, already broken. this one seems to be made to hold for life.
