Microsoft E6W-00002 Arc Touch Mouse Surface Edition - Charcoal

Love this Arc mouse with my new Surface, really easy to click and power on/off and small enough to fit in a shirt pocket. Reminds me of the dimensions of my old Motorola Razr flip phone. I wouldnt want to have to rely on it for a whole day, but for those occasions when working on a train journey or similar - its ideal.

Update after 6 months of use: Mouse is of poor build quality and the rubber/plastic stubs that are on the bottom of the palm rest have come off and the mouse no longer glides across the desk. Contacted Amazon and they directed me to a generic Microsoft Support who were very rude and dismissive, and they didn’t seem to comprehend the issue. I now have a plastic paperweight which while functional doesn’t have the pretty looks you would expect of a paperweight. Scroll wheel stops working periodically and also drops communication with HP Laptop (Elitebook 1040) and stops working as a mouse. Have to turn off an on again to get it to work. Feels nice in the hand though, and is good for travelling.

This is the second of these mice I have tried with my Surface Book with Windows 10 Pro and they have both been less than I think you have a right to expect from the brand and the price. In an effort to make its design features outstanding they made the performance underwhelming. The simulated thumbwheel sometimes works and sometimes not. And generally it puts your hand at quite an awkward angle. I'd say RSI is a definite maybe after continued hours of use. On the plug side it looks good and folds flat, which switches the power off. All in all, surprisingly average and not up to the performance level of the Surface Book itself...

Pros: - Looks nice. - Very compact when folded flat, it's narrower and thinner than the MS Designer Bluetooth mouse. - It's a gadget! - Connects quickly. Cons: - Scroll pad stops working mid-use, a lot (every few minutes), so the mouse has to be switched off and on again. - Scroll pad is fiddly, and not very accurate. It's very easy to engage 'centre click' scrolling accidentally, and not so easy to disengage. Controlling how much a screen scrolls up, or down, is an skill unto itself. - It's quite scratchy on the desk top. - It's not a comfortable hand position, especially if you have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. - It doesn't feel robust. - When folded, it's quite a bit longer than the MS Designer Bluetooth mouse.

Overall an interesting mouse, certainly the size is great, but the price is steep. The small size when flattened is a definite bonus for travel, which also shuts the battery off. Ergonomically it is okay, but not that comfortable for long periods of use, although this is a compromise I'm happy with given the size. Buttons are fine, the scrolling is handled well using haptic feedback, the middle clicking option is handled by a double tap of the scrll pad, different buy perfectly functional. Back/forward buttons would have been tricky given the size constraints but again I find myself wanting them. The price is somewhat steep as well. Yes it's good quality, after multiple "snaps" to turn on/off it certainly feels well made, but I can't help feeling disappointed overall. I do have to quality that by saying that my desktop mouse is a Logitech MX Master, possibly the finest mouse ever made and similar in price, just not quite as portable. Edit: Updated after discovering the middle click option.

This is an excellent mouse. I love the haptic feedback on the scroll wheel and the buttons have a positive click when pressed. The finish is that velvety rubber coating which is easy to grip. However, the best feature is the fold flat when off, which allows me to store it in my Surface 4 Pro case without any bulk!

Great mouse, very comfortable and easy to carry. (If the clicking sound why scrolling with the middle button is driving you insane, it can be put down or removed completely) I personally like it.

Super light but well controllable. Prefer it over my desktop siblings - which feel unduly heave after using this Arc. Need a sleeve though for mobile use - or it will not last long

Ich habe die Maus für ein Surface Pro 4 gekauft, da meine Frau mit Touchpads generell ungern arbeitet und eine kabelgebundene Maus unterwegs unpraktisch ist. Interessant fand ich das Design. Im ausgeschalteten Zustand ist die Maus komplett flach und nur wenige Millimeter dick, so dass man sie sehr leicht transportieren kann. Um sie einzuschalten, muss man den hinteren Teil biegen - er schnappt dann in Bogenform, was gleichzeitig die Maus einschaltet. Die Kopplung mit dem Surface war ein Kinderspiel, und meine Frau konnte sofort loslegen. Anfangs war ich leicht besorgt, dass die ungewöhnliche Form Probleme bei der Benutzung macht. Tatsächlich aber liegt die Maus durch die Krümmung sehr gut in der Hand und passt gut in meine großen Hände, was für eine portable Maus nicht selbstverständlich ist. Anstelle des Mausrads wurde hier ein Sensorstreifen verbaut, der sich durch haptisches Feedback fast wie ein "richtiges" Mausrad anfühlt. Es "klickert", wenn man den Finger über den Sensor streicht, inklusive Nachlaufen, wenn man dies schwungvoll tut. Durch die BlueTrack-Technik funktioniert die Maus auf allen möglichen Unterlagen (perfekt z.B. auf unserer Couch), so dass man sie unterwegs eigentlich immer benutzen können sollte. Der Stromversorgung dienen zwei AAA-Batterien (liegen bei). Dank Bluetooth LE sollte der Stromverbrauch niedrig sein, außerdem lässt sich die Maus zuverlässig ausschalten. Da sie sich ausschaltet, wenn man sie wieder "platt" biegt, wird nur dann Strom verbraucht, wenn man sie wirklich benutzt. Fazit: eine tolle und praktische portable Maus! :-)

Spedizione rapidissima (prevista tra il 02/09 e il 05/09 e arrivato il pacco è arrivato alle 02/09), avevo già un mouse arc con l'attacco USBe con il mio Dell Venue 8 ho una sola porta USB disponibile, per questo ho scelto questo mouse, al primo tentativo si è connesso subito e anche dopo il primo avvio si connette velocemente, costa un po' ma funziona benissimo, quello precedente lo avevo da 5/6 anni e non mi ha mai creato un problema, concludo dicendo che il design è molto bello fa veramente colpo come mouse.

Cette souris est superbe, avec un système pour la mettre en place très originale: il suffit de la plier et lui donner une forme arrondie. Éteinte, elle est toute plate et ne prend pas de place. La "molette", en fait une zone tactile et vibrante permet facilement de l'utiliser. elle marche de plus très bien sous GNU/Linux.

empareja siempre a la primera, es cómodo de usar, es ideal para llevarlo en un maletín puesto que se puede poner plano y llama la atención de todo aquel que lo ve por primera vez. Un gran producto altamente recomendable

Ich habe fuer mein Surface eine moeglichst kompakte und portable Maus gesucht, welche auch meinen Anspruch an Qualitaet entspricht. Mit der ARC Touch Maus ist mir ALLES erfuellt worden! Die Idee das Ein- und Ausschalten ueber das "biegen" der Maus zu ermoeglichen und diese dabei entsprechend portabel zu machen ist einfach nur genial! Im flachen (ausgeschaltetem) Zustand ist sie aeusserst kompakt und daher gut in der Laptop-Tasche oder in der Umhaengetasche zu verstauen. Im normalen (aktivierten) Modus liegt sie sehr gut ergonomisch in der Hand und gibt einen hervorragenden Eindruck an Verarbeitungsqualitaet. Selbst die Nutzung auf einem rustikalen Holztisch (!) ist gar kein Problem und der Cursor laesst sich praezise bewegen. Die Reichweite (angegeben bis zu 10 m) ist auch gut fuer Praesentationen geeignet und das haptischen Feedback des "imaginären" Scrollrades ist ein witziges Gịmmick. Passende Batterien werden mitgeliefert. Kann die Maus vollumfaenglich weiterempfehlen und wuerde mir sie jeder Zeit wieder kaufen.
