This Oakcastle dab500 player is excellent for the price its very robust and has a sleek design. The set up is simple plug in and it starts to search for dab staions in my location and what pleases me most is I didn't what it near a window and it still found plenty of stations in the centre of my lounge. CD player is very good too it plays my recorded cds as well although I found the sound was not quite as loud as a purchased cd, I tend to enjoy my music quite loud , tip...speech setting on EQ gives a good clear sound. Majority Tech support is great very quick to reply with any issues you may need answered also the 3 years extended warranty is simple to activate & a clear manual is included in the packaging which is really well made and secure for transit . Overall for the price this device is great and feels quality.

Reason for purchase - I wanted a smart and compact DAB Radio for our living room and have been looking for some time. The Oakcastle DAB500 DAB+ Radio & CD Player Music System looked like it met my requirements. The appeal was also that this was a multi functional system, doing away with the need for separate and various items of equipment, which meant I have more options for listening to music than just the radio. On receiving the Music System, the box implied that the purchaser could "Extend Your Warranty For Free". Sadly, when I scanned the QR code provided in the Welcome Guide, I found this not to be the case. CD Player - Easy to use both manually and using the remote control provided with the system, and playback includes a shuffle and repeat function. DAB/DAB+ Radio - Good scanner function, however it will need to be tried in various locations in order to enjoy the most powerful signal strength. 2.0 Stereo Sound - Sound quality found to be better than had been expected from a unit with built in speakers. USB Mode - Good sound quality and playback includes a shuffle and repeat function. Bluetooth Connectivity - This is fast and easy to set up with other Bluetooth enabled equipment e.g. TV, Laptop and mobile phone. Compact Design - Aesthetically pleasing the system includes a screen function which shows track currently playing, and in standby mode shows time and date. The disappointment was to find that all the plug in ports are at the back of the system, which requires a clearance of between 4-6 inches or 10-15 cms. to access the USB, headphone and auxiliary ports. This means that the system can not be placed in a position where the rear is un accessible, if the use of these ports is important for you. The power cable is 60" (153cms) which is not as long as many other equipment power cables. This may limit the areas the device may be placed in, unless you are happy to use an extension cable. In order to benefit from all the functions this system provides, it is important to read the User Manual provided, which is very well presented and extremely helpful.

Did a good bit of research on this, excellent on Trustpilot. Looks great and sounds great. Extended warranty took 30 seconds to get. Scanned a barcode on the box. Wish all sellers were as easily accessed for warranties. Well packaged and included batteries with remote. Clock sets itself once you plug it in and the menu fuction is intuitive. Do not expect to have any problems at all, this is a quality item manufactured by a quality company.If I do I shall edit this review :)

Ein solides Gerät. Stabiler Aufbau, steht fest, kein Wackelkandidat, einzig die CD-Lade ist etwas dünn, aber gut - für den Preis ist kein Luxus zu erwarten. Einfache Bedienung per Fernbedienung. Zur Toneinstellung gibt es nur die allgemeinen Einstellungen, die ich von MP3-Playern (wer hat heute noch sowas?!) kenne: Pop-Rock-Jazz-Klassik. Also keine richtige Toneinstellung, aber es reicht für das Hören im Schlafzimmer. Bei entsprechender Lautstärke entwickelt das Gerät dann auch richtig guten Sound - also kein Grund zur Klage. Das Radio nutze ich zwar nicht, aber der Empfang ist ebenfalls gut. Fazit: ein einfaches, schnörkelloses und in der Anwendung gutes Gerät
