Dandy by William Armes, Non Slip Vinyl Carpet Protector Runner, Clear, 183 x 69

After reading that some people found this item to be very unpleasantly smelly - and having a very sensitive nose- I opened the box with some caution, however my mat at least is odourless.Yes it is tightly rolled, and will take a while to relax. Currently I have it unrolled and weighed down - if this isn't enough I will try the hot water method, but for the price I am happy - I needed something to protect the carpet in the kitchen area of my rented flat and this promises to do the job well enough and being clear is reasonably unobtrusive.

Ordered this about a month ago, it arrived quickly (in a surprisingly large box) as it was tightly rolled I unrolled it and rolled it back on itself as tight as I could (it has sharpish nodules on the reverse to grip carpet) laid it out flat on kitchen floor, it did have a strong smell, opened the window. After a day it went into my hall, i decided against cutting it to fit and positioned it under the edge of my unit which certainly helps it stay in place well. After a week the smell had gone. I am pleased with this product.

Hard plastic runner purchased to save new carpets while moving into new house. Does the job intended but annoyingly curls up on both ends from being folded. Not managed to straighten out, despite placing various objects on to try and flatten out. No offensive smell as with some plastic products. All in all satisfied woth product

This carpet protector is quite thin. I use it for under a pet cage so it does the job. I wouldn't recommend this if you were using it as a runner for your hall etc. It won't lay flat on It's own, as it comes rolled up and won't flatten out. Better to pay for a thicker one. If you need a cheap carpet cover that will be held down it's fine.

Product is good. I do agree it does smell weird but it does go. Also, i know some people have commented about how it not lay flat, as someone else said put boiling water on it, it will soon be flat :)Only thing i do not like is that the texture isnt great. I wanted to use it for a base of my guinea​ pig cage, but i tihnk it my not be great for his feet, will see how it goes.

Like others have said it comes tightly packaged and it's not easy to straighten out. It does smell as well but I'm not worried about that, I'm sure the smell will go away soon enough. My main concern is will the carpet ever go completely flat? It creases up and it gets caught in the door. I'll try to iron it out and see what happens

Great looking product but unfortunately didn't work for the purpose that it was purchased for. My father has to have carers and they were struggling to get the Rotunda into the bedroom as it would not roll over the carpet properly, they suggested a product such as this. However, it persisted in moving and causing more difficulties, so it was removed.Not a fault of the product, just didn't work for the purpose it was bought for. However, we're going to use it in our caravan awning once we're allowed back out into it

Very smelly. Took it out the box, unfurled it and left it in the dinning room for 2 days. Still smelled pretty awful. Hung it on the washing line all day in the rain. Did the trick. Dinning room still smells of it!
