I mounted the cover on a house with vinyl siding, so it doesn't fit flush against the house. I used some clear caulk to add 1" weather stripping to the sides of the cover to provide a seal against the elements. There are screw holes for mounting - 2 on the top and some on each side. On the side, I used some make-shift "shims" to allow me to secure the sides with long screws so the cover should not be affected by high winds. The cover has a gasket on the edge where it's mounted against the building, but the gasket is fairly thin. It would probably hold up okay if mounted against a flat wall rather than the vinyl siding. The cover is mounted over a Wyze Pan 3 camera, which is "water resistant", not water proof. The cover provides a decent amount of protecting although the bottom part of the camera will get wet if the wind is blowing. Not much I can do about that - you'd need a much bigger cover if you were trying to keep it completely dry.

Shields the camera from most weather but fog tends to blur the lens. Also need to keep it free from spiders and hornets from setting up shop.

This is really good quality - thick, sturdy. I was mounting this on a 4x4 post, so drilled a new hole that would work for me. Took only a few minutes to install. I wanted to protect the Ring Spotcam from the rain. I bought this because it was a little larger than the others. Since it rains a lot in Seattle, I may also get a skin to protect the cam. There is plenty of room to pull off the camera and to change the battery. Excellent product! I am getting one more Ring Spotlight for my backyard and will order another of these. Thank you for an excellent product!
