Looks smart. Good concept - keep potentially diluting water ice cubes out of your drink. I like having the option to use ice cubes or an ice core (not all ice core jugs have the option). Because the core works well enough I haven't yet tried ice cubes, and I see them now as a back-up as only one core is supplied. The ice core doesn't take up much room in the freezer.I first tested it on the second hottest day on record so far (up to 38.1 degrees), so hot that my raw pastry dough was going gooey and nearly melting. Successful test: chilled drink + ice core = over 3 hours of cold drinks = happy guests.I like the fact that Polar Pitcher is transparent - good for presenting cocktails, for instance.Came minimally packed by the manufacturer (strands of printed cardboard, no proper box), but the Amazon box protected everything. This would make a nice gift, but you'd probably want to enhance the presentation first.
