On my second attempt the ice spheres turned out perfectly! Had to leave in the freezer over 24 hours to get them right 👍🏻

This one is definitely worth the price. Although the instructions are not very good. It's a blend of technique and art. It took multiple tries, and experimenting with five other molds I purchased before I got this one to work. Pictures #1 and #2 show the end result. I used filtered bottled water and boiled it, let it cool, then filled to the top. Allowed it to overflow, and poured out just a little. Then let it sit in the freezer for 36 hours. I also covered the top with a paper towel to prevent holes from freezing, which would block the air bubbles from escaping. Not boiling it, or taking it out sooner than 36 hours, produced pictures #3 and #4 with air bubbles trapped inside in a straight line trying to escape. Picture #5 shows if you take it out too early then it didn't completely form. Picture #6 shows white milky balls when using filtered water from the tap and ice trays where you push the molds togethers, but weren't insulated. The insulation in this product is essential to create a slow freeze that allows the air to be pushed out. Considering how it can be very expensive to get the perfect machine to just fill and go, this on from TIANA is the perfect home device. If you want simple and fast, then buy the expensive products, and I guarantee it still won't work if you don't follow this blend of technique and art. I purchased the 2-ball versus 4-balls because of my freezer space. Hope this info helps!

This product is very well designed and made. The way everything fits together is great, the water reservoir, the foam and the silicone molds all function perfectly. The design is easy to assemble and more importantly easy to disassemble when frozen. It produces very clear ice spheres. For anyone thinking it’s fussy to make ice this way, it might be, but it has a lot of advantages. Large balls melt slower and cool more. Clear ice has no impurities, it lasts longer, and it doesn’t pick up that nasty freezer smell. It is a huge difference for anyone who doesn’t want to drink a watered down beverage that tasted like funk. For great results- just fill it with whatever and pop it in the freezer for 12-24 hours. This will be good enough for most, but you might see some imperfections. For near-perfect results, use filtered, mineral free water, and heat it to near boiling (this reduces the amount of dissolved gasses. Let it cook slightly then pop it in the freezer.
