This 20mm Projectile OEM SAPHEI is a demilitarized, inert semi-armor piercing high explosive incendiary round originally fired by the M61 Vulcan Gatling Gun, used on iconic US military aircraft from the Cold War era. Restored from surplus stock, it features a removable threaded tip and resized fired steel case, making it a museum-quality collectible and unique paperweight with authentic historical provenance.

Very nice
This is very high quality and looks awesome in some 20mm brass.

This is a very nice projectile
This projectile seems to be very accurate and even though it is inert it appears to be a live round. It looks wonderful on one of my 20mm cases that I polished and even though that is not accurate it looks really good.

This is great. They are new old stock from the early 1990s
They are old and have some paint chips, but where else are you going to find these for sale at that price.

cool paper weight
I had some spent brass I kept as a souvenir kicking around the house since I left the service nearly 20 years ago. when I saw these inert projectiles I had to get one.I polished a piece of brass real nice and hit it with some clear coat to keep it from tarnishing again. then I took this round and it has a channel just wide enough that I could put an O-ring in it. this allows me to friction fit the round to the brass in a way that it can be easily removed. so I ended up with a cool little nick-knack that I can put stuff in, like paper clips for example. I gave it to my son as a stocking stuffer this Christmas and it sits on his desk. The projectile comes on and off like a cork on a bottle and the tip of the projectile can be removed to reveal another hollow, not sure what could be small enough to stow in there, but its nice to have options. We used to shoot tons of this stuff when I was in the Navy and literally every gun range I've been to in this area has some of this spent brass displayed somewhere. So if you have some of this brass lying around collecting dust, here's a chance to make something cool with it. And if you don't have the brass, fear not because it looks like they sell a kit that includes the brass too for a reasonable price. However, I chose to use my own brass. It just seems like a more sentimental gift if it comes from rounds I actually fired myself.
