Bushcraft BCB Crusader Cup Canteen

Perfect for either one or two persons, very durable and the fact that it's made of steel makes it better than titanium cups. Yes, it's heavier, but steel is a lot better than titanium for heat transfer, meaning you will boil water faster. A metal lid would have been great, but until I can find one or make one myself, I improvise one using heavy duty aluminium foil. I know persons who have used one heavily for as long as ten years and it's still in great shape. For me, it's the perfect cup/canteen because it's so durable, versatile and it simply works for all my needs - from brewing coffee and tea, to preparing an instant soup or noodles, to boiling water for dehydrated meals, etc., etc.

The body and material are without doubt the best grade stainless steel in the world, you will be hard pushed to even flex it when squeezing it by hand...I've had most army cups on the market and civilian canteen cups also, but none compare to this! Not even on the same level... chuck it in the fire, blast under a gas stove, use a meths stove, hell even point a nuke at it and it will just smile at you...lol its really that strong! Bcb have nailed the stainless grade, id say they have used 316grade, its super hard to work with as its much less bendable than 306 grade, so the bcb boys must have good press machines in the factory... couple of small negatives(i will be honest) the handle plate was flash welded to the left if mug rather than dead centre, and handles are a bit wonky as they dont sit close to canteen cup as designed... but ive messed with them and bent them to my will...lol Its just a case of small pointers on the manufacturing, they have a awesome product here, just needs a bit more refinement on the finish... But for the money guys! This cup will out last you and your kids and thats the bottom line👍

Rock solid construction. The stainless must be a good grade has it's proven itself over years of use. I've got titanium mugs that look like they could be crushed by hand whereas you'd have a job crushing this if you drove other it in a family car. If was rich enough to waste the money would do a test on the ti mugs, it seems most ti equipment manufacturers are scared of making anything with a wall thickness above 0.5mm and most use 0.3mm, this must be at least 0.7mm wall thickness. Good size for one person. Cheap. Buy 2 and use one to replace the plastic mug if you have the set. It weighs more than most but there's things in your kit that you need to last and a cook pot is one of them. Totally recommended.

Do not get the black one! The silver one is great, made with unfinished stainless steel. But the black one is lined with teflon - which is an awful material when involved with any cooking process, as constituents of teflon coating are carcingenic when ingested. Stainless steel is nowhere near as bad for you. Ideally titanium is the best option but it can be too pricey. This is probably the 2nd best product you can get for cooking/boiling whilst camping (titanium crusader cup is the best), but it is the best one if you are on a budget and you aren't too bothered about lowering your cancer risk to 0 (which is what you get with titanium cookwear). The cancer risk with stainless is negligable. The teflon one should be removed for sale, it is unfit for purpose. PS steer clear of aluminium crockery aswell, anodised aluminium also poses a cancer risk when ingested. Stainless steel or titanium are your options.

I've used a black crusader mug for a few years with the cooking system, but the inner coating started flaking off and one if the handles came loose. The unpainted version is a direct replacement and will avoid the coating issue. Fits 58 patt mug and most water bottle pouches designed for that bottle/mug. As a note, the crusader heater works well with hexi/dragonfire, takes up little room and weighs practically nothing, and the mug lid is good for speeding up the heating process.

THE LID I BOUGHT SEPARATELY OFF EBAY! Brilliant robust metal mug with interlocking handles for extra support. I fit in a small gas can, tripod can support and my MSR pocket rocket stove inside the mug and secure it all in a dry bag. Excellent mug, fully recommend

This is a seriously strong and robust piece of kit, you could beat an elephant to death with it, and would not even get a dent. It is a perfect mini cooking device, which you can eat and drink out of, previously I used a US army version, which was nowhere near as good as this. I recomend it thoroughly.
