The Queen of Your Kitchen
I would like to apologize to my arms for ever making them knead dough by hand. This is not a mixer. It is a war machine disguised as a baking tool. I have fed it bread dough so dense it could double as a medieval weapon. It did not struggle. It did not hesitate. It rotated with the confidence of something that knows it is stronger than me. Cake batter? Silky. Cookie dough? Obliterated. 6lbs of potatoes? It barely considers it cardio. And the bowl-lift mechanism? Dramatic. Industrial. Theatrical. When you lift the bowl up into position it feels like you’re preparing for launch. I almost expect dramatic music and a countdown. It’s heavy. It’s sturdy. It does not scoot across the counter like lesser appliances. You will choose its spot wisely because once it’s there, it lives there now. This is not a “tuck it into a cabinet” kind of mixer. This is a permanent kitchen resident with strong opinions. The kitchen is no longer yours. It belongs to the Kitchenaid. If you bake occasionally, this might be overkill. If you bake regularly, cook in bulk, meal prep, shred meat, or want to own an appliance that emits chaotic domestic power and could take over your house, this is your machine. Five stars. Ten if I could. I welcome my countertop overlord.

Nice mixer with many options
I recently had to replace my old 6 qt KitchenAid. I was very leery with some of the reviews I'd seen with the new mixers, however, I was pleasantly surprised with effectiveness of the machine. It has a great capacity and is way quieter than my previous KitchenAid. I love the ability to utilize the accessories I already have and the flexibility to add other new ones. The only downside is that there is a slight defect in the enamel paint job on the base, which doesn't impact the functionality, and I can live with it.

Two mixers broken within two-three minutes.
Purchased a KitchenAid 7-quart mixer at the sale price of $549 on day one; died two minutes into mixing batter. I did the recommended troubleshooting process, plugged into other outlets, checked the circuit breaker & kept unplugged for a full day. Still did not work. I called KitchenAid, and they were willing to replace it but would take 6-8 weeks. They then offered to refund my money only after they received the mixer. I opted to return to Amazon as it was brand new. I really wanted a mixer for the holidays, so, on a gamble, I ordered a second mixer at full price, $649. With both, I added the Acurion insurance (Acurion refunded me right away). After dropping off the first mixer at UPS, I discovered that Amazon will not release $$ funds $$ until they receive the mixer. I did not know this when purchasing the second mixer. Now I am $1200 on hold on my credit card. Not only are my funds held, but the return is via UPS Ground, a slow boat. This KitchenAid 7-quart mixer must be a bad batch from the KitchenAid for Amazon. Very tough disappointment! I really hoped that the second one would have worked for me. With a 7-quart mixer, I opted to purchase from Amazon to get insurance, and I hoped the 7-quart would be more powerful for batched bread dough and large amounts of cookie batter. I did end up going to Costco for the smaller size 6-quart KitchenAid Mixer, and so far (two days in) it is working fine.

Great Deal
Purchased this Kitchen Aid model for my oldest granddaughter who is getting married. This is the one she wanted. I have a similar 40 year old model that is still used very often. KA maintains their continued quality, look, basic color, and multi speed. I am sure whe will get 40 years plus out of hers as well.

Faulty Unit! Not an isolated incident - read the one star reviews before you purchase!
BUYER BEWARE. I purchased this mixer after seeing all the good reviews. KitchenAid has always been a reputable brand, I figured I'd upgrade from my cheapy little $100 mixer to this. First time I used it was to make cookies. Creamed butter like a dream. I used it for maybe 10 minutes tops, but it worked so smoothly. I was in love. Today was the second time I was going to use my mixer. I put together my dough, put it in the bowl, and got ready to knead. Moved it up one notch - to 1/2 speed - it whirred for less than a second... and shut off. Same story as all the other folks here. I tried different outlets. Checked to make sure outlet was okay (tried plugging in other appliances), all was fine there. Unplugged it and left it off for an hour. Tried it again. Nada. Of course, my return period closed two days ago... I'm going to try and get in touch with Kitchen Aid first thing in the morning. Amazon is telling me to get in touch with them, due to the high value of the mixer. Disappointed that they weren't able to do much more to help me, but of course now that return period is closed they can't be bothered to help me...

Olive Green
So the story of my mixer. Let me start off with I love this mixer. Tho is was a rocky start… The first one I received did not even turn on…didn’t even try to start. But costumer service is amazing with Amazon and kitchenaid. Tho I had to wait a little longer because I had to have the olive green one. The 2nd one works perfectly, the color I love, easy to clean up, easy to attach the attachments, easy to use. Does everything I ask it to do with ease. It’s powerful. It’s a bit heavy but I love that. Doesn’t feel like it’s cheaply made. Definitely with the cost.
