Victron Energy SmartSolar MPPT Solar Charge Controller (Bluetooth) - MPPT Charge Controller for Solar Panels - 100V 30 amp 12/24-Volt

Probably the best quality MPPT money can buy. I have the 100/30 set up in my campervan on a 140w solar panel and it’s keeps my 2 140ah leisure batteries charged whenever I’m away on a trip. It’s very easy to set up and it’s pretty much plug and play. The Bluetooth app interface is also easy to use and provides good information for your electrical set up. Size wise it’s a big heavy unit but that shows the quality of it if you ask me. The efficiency is excellent and it’s never skipped a beat in my 2 years of ownership.

Very solidly put together. Easy to install and is very efficient in charging my campervan leisure battery even in overcast conditions, though obviously much better in sunshine.

I bought the 30amp MPPT solar controller for my leisure battery. The old controller had stopped working. No need for an LCD display because there's a Victron Solar app available that connects via Bluetooth on your mobile device and solar controller. As soon as I connected it up, the leisure battery charge had increased from 2.6v to 5.8v in 30 minutes. I'm hoping it'll take it back up to a full charge without having to remove the battery and do a plug on charge at home using a 240v battery charger. The app is great. Plenty of live info to read and historical data can be accessed too. £159 to £111 on offer was a great deal. I was told to buy Victron and beware unknown names and brands. Just remember, if you're installing it yourself, use the correct electrical insulated screwdrivers because your solar panel cables will be LIVE!If you're not sure, get an electrician booked in to do the work.

Good product

This works so well with my solar panels on my camper. I get a charge even on cloudy days that my old controller couldn’t do.

There are so many models it was hard to figure out which to choose from. I used the MPPT Calculator on the Victron site which suggested this model whilst taking into account some overpanel. In use, it started generating power earlier than another charge controller which has a higher startup voltage. Previously on some darker rainy days, no power was being generated - extracting more power at this time of year is a welcome bonus. The Bluetooth range on this charge controller is pretty amazing - about 15 meters and still connecting to the App. I compare this to the BMS which is 5 meters or thereabouts. I'll continue to monitor its performance and may look to swap over a second string to a victron charge controller.
