We were looking for a simple design, easy to open and close, keeps the mail dry, large enough for big envelopes and magazines. We aren't interested in the lock, so we duct taped the inner lid to the outer lid. The box has curved corners, so little chance of getting a cut. There are two slits on the bottom inside, in case water does get in, but we hope it doesn't. If it does, we'll seal any visible gaps with white duct tape. For installation, we cut a piece of thin wood the size of the back, painted it white, attached it to back of the box, and then used our own hardware to attach the wood to our railing.

We love our mailbox!
