I purchased these forks for the build of a Ritchey P29er. I think it will be fun and mentally challenging to pick a line and think my way through it. I looked at Whisky No. 7, Ritchey Carbons, Origin 8, and Syncros. Truth be told, it was the White Brothers that I wanted from the onset--coupled with an irresistable deal from Amazon Warehouse. These forks have proven themselves to be compliant, predictable, and smooth. They require thinking on the part of a rider who has used Rock Shox SIDs for the past several years. Again, "thinking" is the operative word here--these forks force you to plot a strategic line and finesse your way through it. As always, Amazon did a fantastic job in the execution of this purchase--tracking, shipping, et cetera.

The 490mm is perfect for a 29er
The 490mm works perfect for my 29er that formerly had 100mm travel. Geometry changed slightly but soon adapted to a more aggressive, slightly forward riding position. Handling more precise and the missing 5 pounds up front is instantly recognized and appreciated. Very pleased, highly recommend.

... off a couple in between) - it's held up great on my 29er
I've used this fork for about 4 years now (taking off a couple in between) - it's held up great on my 29er. I'm 6'7", and my weight's gone from #200 in racing shape to #250 in not racing shape, and the fork has been outstanding throughout. I've stuck with the 6" rotor as advised up front, and range from a 6" to an 8" in the rear depending on what shape I'm in - round or lean ;)I bought this fork because I'd always kept my front suspension fork locked out as it was - riding cross country with some pretty techy bits along the front range of Colorado. Was really happy with the decision - cut 4# off my ride without sinking $7-800 in a fashionable fork. It might take some getting used to - especially with all the full suspension guys shaking their heads at what you can bull through.I've been pleasantly surprised with the handling and longevity of this fork, and if that sad day comes when it has to be retired, you can bet I'll be investing in the latest version to replace it.

Awesome fork. If you're going to ride rigid, do so on this fork.
Brilliant fork. Granted I have not ridden the fabled niner carbon fork, but this thing is awesome. Flexy when you want it to be, laser precise when you need it. During the course of ownership I have ridden 3 24 hour races (OK, more like 24 hour rides; I'm a terrible 24 hour racer, I tend to sleep from about 2am - 6AM, and drink beer at some point during the event. Needless to say racing isn't quite the right term). Anyway, the fork. It's super light. Looks sexy, works well and if you've been riding an 80mm suspension fork you will not miss the suspension at all. If you're looking at rigid forks, then this is it. Unmitigated 5 stars.
