Internal Inner LCD Display Screen Repair Replacement for iPod 5th Gen Video 30gb 60gb and 80gb

I cracked the original screen on my iPod Video 5.5 Gen while doing a battery and flash drive card mod. I ordered this replacement screen, and it showed up the next day. I installed it myself by following a few YouTube videos, and everything went smoothly. The screen has is working perfectly: no dead pixels, no glitches, just a bright, clear display. I didnt know how to vote for thickness because it is a thin LCD screen that fits in the mentioned unit. So it's not that thick which is good, but I don't know if i should rate 5 stars for the right thickness, or because it's very thick, but it was a perfect fit. Turned on in me old iPad and worked grandly. Sadly I have found out it needs a new battery but at least I was able to see the screen and figure that put now. Display is bright and colorful. Nice new screen

This replacement worked great for me. Idk if its just me, but I think it actually provide a brighter and crisper screen than the stock one. Shipping was ok, packing was sufficient. I broke some of the tools it came with. I had to tinker with the wire connection a good bit for it to suddenly light up. I thought I had a dud or either I truly trashed my 30g ipod video forever. I didnt watch youtube videos beforehand to help with the install. It's was very straight forward process. Just be careful. Hardest part is getting the case open. I would recommend watching a insall video tho. I highly recommend this gismo for a replacement if your 5th gen 30g ipod suffers from a busted screen.

If you know how to open an iPod (look online) and are careful like a surgeon this is not that difficult to do. Just take your time and don't rush with the very tiny parts that you have to connect and reconnect. Mine works flawlessly. Couldn't be happier with the new screen. While you are at it and the iPod is open do yourself a favor and replace the battery (and consider upgrading the hard disk size with an SD card adapter if you want to spend more $). If you still like your iPod this is the way to go.

This is a perfect, flawless, new LCD screen that perfectly replaced the screen in my iPod. It comes with a thin plastic screen protector. Leave that in place until just before you install it, so you won't end up with any scratches on your new screen. You'll need to watch some YouTube videos to learn how to use spudgers correctly to open an iPod without damaging it or breaking your spudger. Watch several videos in case the one you picked glossed over some details. Realize that all the connectors for those tiny cables have tiny release levers that must be operated correctly to release the cable and the properly reconnect the cable when you're done. The biggest problem I had in the repair was getting the ribbon cables for the hard drive and the battery reconnected properly. If you fail to connect the cables just right, you'll get a "very low battery" warning, or Apple's frowning iPod screen. Just keep trying, and don't snap the case closed until you're sure everything is working correctly.

I used this to replace my iPod 5th Gen 5.5 Video, (iPod Classic) screen that had broken pixels from bad battery. Use tutorials on you tube and was a fairly easy repair, just pay attention to how to release the cables its easy to damage if you don't. Also this will will fix broken pixels and what not, but will not remove scratches you need to get a new front face for that.
