Excellent and very easy to Setup
These are great an exceptional product. I’ve use several other types over the years and they all work but all that I’ve used are unnecessary difficult to setup. Also virtually all that I’ve used sometimes inadvertently detach from the network. This product is especially easy to setup and it also works with Alexa. I’ve only recently discovered Apple’s Home app and I’m loving converting everything to that system. It’s much easier and seamless in execution. No waiting just say what you want and it happens from dimming lights to changing colors to turning things on and off. In my opinion you cannot go wrong choosing this product. Also, they arrived quickly and well packaged that’s always a plus. Also if it inadvertently detaches from the system, which it hasn’t yet at least you know it’s a breeze erasing it from the app and setting up again like a new device.

Set It and Forget It.
I've used a few different TP-Link products before and all of them have been top quality in terms of their look, build, and user experience, this is no different. I have a few of these set up for a few standing fans and a lamp. They all respond perfectly through both the Tapo app and the integration through Google Home. These also fit much better than previous ones that I've owned, you can actually plug something in above/below it.

Seamless to set up and use, great compact size
Work seamlessly. Equal to Lutron in terms of the easiest smart products I have to set up and use. Just plug it in, scan the QR code and it’s connected. I’m using Apple Home and got the Matter plugs, not sure if it’s as great with other set ups. Been using for a weak months and no technical problems yet. Also appreciate how they also have a physical button for use when next to it. Otherwise favorite feature is simply that you can still use another plug in the same outlet given its compact size.

Pretty good but some kinks with "matter" technology
Needed a couple of smart plugs and saw there is a brand new technology called "matter" that allows smart devices to continue to function on the local network if the internet is down, and also can work across multiple smart services (alexa, google, etc.) which I found appealing, so I figured if buying new devices today I would be future proofing with matter. After plugging in, I made the mistake of following the included "quick start" instructions which had me setup the tapo app. Don't do this if you want to use matter, there is a separate card for matter instructions, and at least for alexa you have to setup devices in a specific order. To back out of that I hard reset the plug (hold power for 10 seconds) then followed TP-Link's Alexa setup instructions online and paired with an echo dot 5th gen, and that works great! Frankly I'm still confused if the tapo thing is matter or if it's a different protocol from the multiverse and how they work together. The instructions could be clear here on tapo vs. matter. It was a little challenging setting up the pairing with the Android phone (pixel 7) because while I was trying to scan the QR code in the Alexa app a matter device recurring pop-up kept taking over the screen, I think this is from Android but not sure, and assume it found it from bluetooth. I eventually managed to dismiss that and sneak in the scan for alexa before it came back, and I'm still not sure what would have happened had I tried to set it up via that method. Surprise! Matter doesn't actually let you control one service via another (e.g., control the device paired to Alexa from Google) unless you own a hub to pair for each service, and I don't own any Google nest stuff. After I created a code to use it from Google Home, it added the device successfully, but it said offline. So you cannot route Google Home controls on your phone through an echo or vice versa. Sad! So, I actually have a compatible SmartThings hub even though I don't want to control it from that, and I started going through the same steps to get a pairing code, etc. But, it never successfully paired because the app never got passed the screen that says "Preparing." Promising technology but still some work to do. The plug works great and as expected with Alexa routines, I'm very happy on that front. --- Update: I realize I am one of the first reviewers of these matter smart plugs, so I'm sure people are asking "What's a matter with SmartThings?" following this review. I'm happy to report that I saw a SmartThings app update come down on Android today, so on a hunch I tried to setup the plug again by getting a new code from Alexa, and sure enough this time it worked! It's an "Aeotec Smart Home Hub" for those interested.

Good value, works out of the box with Google Home and easy to setup.
These were super easy to setup on my Google Home network and, well, they just work. Didn't need to use the TP-Link app thanks to Matter integration. I'm using them with some automations to stagger powerups on some expensive CNC gear and they are working great. Not much to say about them other than that.... great value for the money and I'd buy them again.

Simple smart plug that fits perfectly in the TP-Link ecosystem
TP-Link Tapo Matter Supported Smart Plug Mini – 15A / 1800W These are a great addition to my smart home setup since I run a complete TP-Link ecosystem. Setup was simple and quick, and programming them through the app was just as easy. Once connected, they work reliably and can be moved around the house whenever needed without any hassle. The compact design is also nice because it doesn’t block the second outlet. Overall a simple and dependable smart plug that integrates well with the TP-Link system.

Easy set up and Reliable
I was shocked at how easy this was to set up with my Apple Home Kit. I just opened the Home app; clicked add an accessory and was instructed to scan the QR code. Within a couple of minutes, the device was added and ready to go. So far, there have been absolutely no connectivity issues, and it has operated flawlessly. And the price is great.

Amazing! ...Until they aren't.
These are great! The ability to turn on and off from you phone, as well as setup schedules and interact with other tapo devices (like temp sensor or motion detector) is perfect. However, out of the 4 original ones I bought over a year ago, 3 of them died. The symptom is that they "click" over and over, as well as blink the blue power light repeatedly. No factory reset or anything works at this point. I opened one up to see what happened, and as you can see from the picture, a less-than-ideal capacitor was used. I started to RMA these, but realized that by the time I pay shipping back and deal with the headache, I can spend just a few dollars more and buy another set. I post this, hoping that perhaps I got a bad batch and nobody else deals with this. Especially given all the great review count... curious if others have had this issue?

Es una chulada, me sirvió para poder apagar y prender un compresor de manera remota. Me encantó. Super recomendable, OJO, vean de cuántos Amperes es su equipo, el mío es de 13A.

This was my first 'matter' plug, and I wasn't sure how easy it would be to set up. I wanted to connect it through my Samsung 'Smart Things' hub. It took two tries but was quite easy and now works extremely well through the Smart Things hub. Overall, the Tapo brand seems to be the one I'll be switching the smart elements of my house over to.
