I didn’t really get into this story until chapter 9. But after that point I couldn’t stop reading. This was the most heartfelt story of the series. Lucian and Sloane are so good together, they just had to admit it! They went from friends to enemies to lovers. And wow, they love pretty hard! They have so much chemistry, it burned my pages!

Breaking trust in a relationship of any kind is like breaking a China cup,it can't be rolled or reversed back to normal or mended back to orignal under any circumstances. But what if,if the intent of breaking the trust is good and pure,if the action comes out of concern, happiness & safety of one another involved and if it's involuntary, real & natural without any interest, pretence? In such situations we see that, it's the love that overshadows the trust. "Things We Left Behind" by Lucy Score is mainly about the breaking trust for blinding love of two characters in the book, i.e., Lucian Rollins and Sloane Walton(childhood friends and neghbours) at a Place called Knockemout. It took 20 plus years for them to understand and realize the real intent, feelings and emotions for each other only when they talk and communicate, which comes out of an unexpected fling on an occasion. The trust they think was broken was not broken at all and infact they see (luckily) it as an extension of Love between them.Very subtly the reader understands the underlying love, passion ,emotions, feelings etc between the two during the course of reading which makes the reading even more intresting.Though it's the first solo book of Lucy Store that I have read,I could enjoy the book without relating to the other books in the series. The place Knockemout and the characters Sloane Walton,Lucifer Rollins,Knox,Nash,Lina,Karen etc will remain for long.Even the Late Simone Walton(Slone's dad )has his own positive impact on me. The words Protectiveness & possessiveness, though different in dictionary meaning ,here it synonyms with one word "Love" between the two.Overall a passionate Love story between friends turned frenimies and back.

Lucy Score's latest novel, Things We Left Behind, is a heartwarming and passionate love story that stands out as one of the best in her series. Readers who have followed the Knockemout series from the beginning, like myself, have eagerly anticipated the story of Lucian and Sloane, and this book delivers on all fronts. Lucian Rollins is a wealthy mogul SUIT DADDY, determined to erase the scars his father left on the family name. He's a driven man, spending every moment building his empire and protecting himself from threats. But there's one woman who keeps him up at night, the feisty small-town librarian, Sloane Walton. Their shared history is dark, and they're enemies by circumstance, but their undeniable chemistry sparks a passionate one-night stand that neither can forget. However, when their fiery relationship begins to smolder into something more, their differences threaten to tear them apart. Lucian is a complex character, and learning about his past and the feud with Sloane is both heartbreaking and heartwarming. He's portrayed as icy and ruthless, but beneath the surface, he's a caring man who wants to protect those he loves. His interactions with Sloane are filled with witty banter and tension, making their relationship all the more enticing. Sloane, the spitfire librarian, is the perfect match for Lucian. She's strong, stubborn, sassy, and witty, providing a worthy counterpart to Lucian's demeanor. The evolution of their characters and their relationship is beautifully portrayed as they both slowly open up to each other, revealing their vulnerabilities. The chemistry between Lucian and Sloane is off-the-charts hot, and their romantic journey is filled with intense emotions. Their love story is beautifully crafted, and their connection is a joy to witness. Lucy Score's found family element in this series is always a highlight, and in this book, it adds depth and charm to the narrative. The closure provided for other characters' stories and the way the series wraps up are both satisfying and bittersweet. While the book has its moments of over-the-top drama and could benefit from trimming some extraneous details, the core of the story is so well-crafted that these issues are easily overlooked. In conclusion, Things We Left Behind is a poignant and passionate love story that will leave readers with all the feels. Lucy Score has delivered a memorable and captivating romance that stands as one of the best in the Knockemout series. Lucian and Sloane's journey is a testament to Score's storytelling prowess, and it's a must-read for fans of the series and newcomers alike.
