Very good, but too many bells and whistles
I purchased this to go with my 40 oz. wide mouth Iron Flask bottle. It works out very well, and carrying the bottle is much easier. The paracord braid seems tight and the plastic ring is doing a fine job connecting the handle to the bottle.Personally, though, that is all I need from a handle. I don't really need a compass, a ferrocerium rod and striker, or an emergency whistle. I'm not sure what use the cord lock serves, but it is there. And the carabiner seems to be placed in such a way that it offers very little in the way of added functionality, but it does make the bottle much louder to use, as it clanks against the metal sides when carried and sounds a bit like a cow bell. I suppose it is meant to be used with the chug lids, but I don't use those, so it doesn't do much for me; I use the straw lid, which has an integrated latch ring already. It is obviously not meant to be used with the wide-mouth stainless steel lids, as those mount on the same part of the bottle as this handle and there isn't enough room to accommodate both. These features are obviously designed for more outdoors-oriented activities, and not just for people going to the gym... I don't mean to brag, but I have never needed a compass to find my way from the treadmill to the free weights. For those times that I am outdoors and am in situations where I might need such things as compasses and fire steels, I usually have much more user-friendly versions of them with me.This product does what I need it to do, and it seems to do it very well. It has a lot of extra bells and whistles (in this case, literally) which I find more gimmick than added function, but your mileage may vary. In truth, I'd rather pay $5 for just the paracord handle than $10 for a paracord handle and a bunch of extra urban commando stuff, but none of it seems to impede the function of the handle or the bottle. All in all, if I had to buy it again, I would. In fact, since I use and carry this bottle daily, if this handle lasts more than a year or so, I will consider myself having gotten my money's worth out of it.

Not reliable
I purchased this cord to help me carry my Iron Flask 64oz water jug. However, it is not sturdy enough to carry the weight of the jug filled with water. I was carrying this on my forearm, and the cord just popped open (from the clasp) making my water jug fall to the ground, and now my jug is dented and scraped. I haven't even had either of these products for a full 12 hours. The plastic clasp seems like it does not click or clasp correctly. It could be a defected product, but I am not sure. I am going to return this and try to purchase another one, but now I have major trust issues with this cord.

Fire starter not TSA approved!
Great handle! I do not need all the survival aspects of this handle - however WARNING! "More than just a handle, this paracord strap comes equipped with a .... fire starter." I took this with me on a flight and TSA flagged this handle and used pliers to remove the metal fire starter! Handle still worked fine - it did not disable it from clasping - but if you are taking this on a trip where you actually intend to use the fire starter I suggest removing the handle and placing it in your checked bag (if you have one). Seems like people who are traveling and intend to camp and need to start a fire might travel only with a backpack carry-on!
