Super accessible supply chain history (and future) for both laypersons and industry experts
As a consumer, I've been aware of supply chains and how they work to get goods to stores and retail outlets. What I didn't know was about just how amazing it is that any one item gets to the one specific place where I end up buying it. Reading about how various tiers of the chain work together to get parts to car manufacturers, clothing manufacturers, food manufacturers, etc, was truly eye-opening, and provided some really practical and, honestly, calming perspective when it comes to how machines and AI and related things are going to change (or not change) jobs. Highly recommend this read -- very accessible, easy to understand, and engaging, even when diving deep into industry terminology and concepts.

Not really about A.I. or the future of work
Not really about A.I. or the future of work except in the most general of terms. Mostly history and story telling.

Informative, Easy to Read, and Accurate
This book is well researched and easy for the average person to get through. Often times I find that books like these are difficult for non-academics to read but I found that The Magic Conveyor Belt was enjoyable to consume and not too high level. Yet, it still was very information heavy (in a good way). I can come away from this book with more of an understanding of the processes happening all around me every day, where the future of supply chain is going, and how to look forward as the world around us evolves. Highly recommend!
