This is a lovely set of CDs spanning late medieval to early baroque music, mostly liturgical. Well recorded, incredible voices.

Excelente compendio del arte de Hilliard ; de los siete CDs , los puntos álgidos recaen en los compositores ingleses Lionel power, y the old hall manuscript, repertorio en el cual Hilliard se desenvuelve completamente en lo suyo. El resto bueno más no en el grado de excelencia de lo anterior. No doy cinco estrellas por algunas deficiencias de grabación , dado el año en que fueron hechas. De cualquier manera, es una escucha obligatoria para cualquiera que se precie de « conocer» de música antigua.

Brilliant recordings. Digital glitches
These recording are sublime, among my most treasured CDs The one star is for not fixing the digital garbage on the Dufay CD (listen to 'O sancte Sebastiane'- 1:46 and on). When re-issuing I had hoped these would be fixed. Alas no. Recordings are 5 star plus; mastering zero.

Indispensable para quienes desean ampliar repertorio antiguo. Versiones pulcras y bellas , muy al estilo británico, algo monótonas pero muy disfrutables (hay mejores versiones con criterio historicistas pero a este precio de biboca es irresistible su compra)

海外のレビュアーも書かれていますが、CD3のDufayの「O sancte Sebastiane」に雑音が入っています。その方が報告されているのと同じトラックの同じ時間に入っているので、恐らく製造上の問題と思われます。全体的に素晴らしい選曲・録音だけに大変残念です。

Per tutti gli amanti della musica barocca, e più in generale per gli amanti di musica classica e lirica, questo cofanetto è assolutamente da acquistare, perché è, molto semplicemente, fantastico da ascoltare. Rapporto qualità prezzo senza eguali. Ve lo consiglio.

Une qualité d'exécution brillante interprétation vocale du Moyen-Âge ainsi que musicale de la période France , Flamande et Germanique ! 5 étoiles et plus ,soignée du temps Heinrich Schũltz , Bach , Guillaume Dufay et plusieurs autres une découverte MERCI ! Ensemble Hilliard .

First of all, excellent value for money and certainly an important recovery of the 80s repertoire of the Hilliard Ensemble for EMI Reflexe (here published as Erato) comprising at least a couple of basic recordings such as Schutz's Matthew Passion and Bach's Motets (as well the great achievement of the Masses by Isaac and Dufay, and much more here !). We could say, a fundamental record box that we can suggest almost to every kind of music-lover. Not to be missed ! ! ! !
