Works perfect and the readings seem spot on.

The one I got must have been a return. The box and inner sleeve were open and the box said there should be another tool but there wasn't. Regardless I like this tool. I was having problems with my houseplants having curling leaves and according to the internet I had too much or too little light and nutrients and ph and water. Ph was in neutral, Nutrient was low green zone, light was ok and water showed two thirds through the green. Problem is I water every three to four days and I got this on watering day. I'm going to use it daily and not water till it's close to the bottom of the green zone and I'm going to give it a dose of Worm casings and bat guano fertilizer. I'm guessing I was over watering and should have watered once a week instead of twice. Ok I have been monitoring and I was over watering. When you change the setting, give it a minute to settle down. My wetness reading is a bit higher when I first set it to moisture but it settles down a bit maybe half a setting if I let it have a minute.

I really like this item. I’ve tested it using the PH MODE so far several times on a special new plant which requires acid soil. So far. the “ reading “ is the same, even though I gave the plant an acid fertilizer recently. Today I added more acid.If it continues to “ read “ the same, I will return it.Time will tell. I’m quite an experienced gardener, so don’t need to mess around withsilly tools.

Nothing worked. The needle never worked. It never moved regardless of which I was testing, not for ten minutes or all night long. Trash! Save your money and buy a digital read out that gives you quick readings in seconds.

Honestly I wasn’t expecting for it to be such a savior but I was very surprised once I unpackaged it and shoved it in one of my plants soil and right away it read. It was very cool how quick you can get different results with various plants but to be honest my favorite part after receiving this item was going around and telling everyone I know who loves to garden and showed them this. I was calling it a plant thermometer lol. I would love to get a box of these for all my plants! Works very very well for indoor plants as well as outdoors

I only wanted to know the soil PH, and the indicator for that reading is right at the bottom of the dial. It shows up as a line, rather than a dial. Perhaps having 4 uses for one tool might not be a good thing.You have to read the quick start guide (aka manual) to understand how to use this. Since this has 4-in-1 modes, you will need to move the switch to get the correct reading. There are 4 switch settings.Reading the manual you will find it has a useful list in the back with plant PH info. and what plants require for each setting. An online version of this would be helpful.I tried testing the PH of rainwater collected in a rain barrel a few hours earlier and it said it was 5 to 6 PH.
