Scoolr DC 3.6V-6V to 400KV Boost Step-up Power Module Voltage Generator Black : desertcart.co.uk: Automotive Review: An excellent product. - Perfect for my application. Arrived on time and well packaged. A lot of volts in a small package ! You must ensure there is a gap no wider than about 18mm for the arc to jump. Works well with one rechargeable Li-ion battery of 3.7v dc. Very pleased with my buying experience. Review: Does what it is intended for and works well although claimed maximum output is questionable. - Exactly what I expected and perfect for my project which was to make an igniter for a light oil burner. Not sure about the claimed output voltage but did what I wanted on one AA battery, although I now run it on two to give 3V. Adequate spark across a 4mm gap at that voltage, not tried any higher input. Make sure you keep well clear of the output, ensure adequate insulation of any wiring you construct and observe suitable safety precautions. I would not like to get a belt off of this thing.

Sparks
It arrived on time. Works fine. It's okay for generating sparks but not suitable for Jacobs ladders

Insane arc's for such a small driver
From the first test with a single AA battery I knew this was going to impress. This was purchased to get a gas hob working without the need for mains power and to be honest it far exceeded expectations. It lights any hob immediately and runs off a single "C" size battery as the power source. I can light all 4 simultaneously without any difficulties at all. As a practical solution this is great and does what it says in the ad, but if you wanted to build a poor mans fly zapper then this would blow them to bits without a doubt. This is no toy and from the test data...not the safest thing to run on a battery by any means of the imagination. A good product and the daddy of sparks from a single 1.5 volt cell! Make sure you are nowhere near the high voltage leads (the two at the opposite end of the LV side) when you connect it up (Green is negative and the red at the same end is the positive)

Ok for a science project.
Good for what they are, but wire's are a little thin.

Creates a good arc , but depletes the battery very quickly in use as a gas igniter.
This was the first of two I bought to make an igniter for the grill in my motorhome to replace the piezo push button ignition using an oil boiler igniter probe with ceramic insulators. It was insufficient for this purpose in that a nine volt battery would be largely depleted after very little use, so I ordered a 12v version, which was then too dangerous to use.....I'll have to think of a better idea.

Amazing little device for the price.
Connected this to 4.5v DC supply and it produced a sustained spark over a 9mm gap. Normal rule of thumb is 1k per mm is dry air so output around 9 KV. That was maximum gap arc could jump so advertised output voltages appear rather "optimistic". No the less it's absolutely fine for my needs and for the price it's a bargain.

Five-star because Amazon does not allow 6!
Although it can be fed with 3.7V from a 18650 lithium battery, I found that it generates the high voltage I need by connecting it to one or two ordinary AAA batteries. I can't say about the 400 kV specification, however judging the arcing length I believe it likely reaches 5-7 kV in my testing conditions. Your mileage may vary depending on how you use it. Just one word of caution: be careful, this thing can hurt. Handle with care and only if you know what you are doing.
