This thing is powerful. Heats up soooo quickly. I had it at the highest setting at 450 and it burned and started smoking in less than 30 seconds. My husband has a major curly coarse beard. He likes to have it straighten and uses a bulky hair dryer brush and it has worked well. He wanted something smaller and easier to handle. This comb was way too hot for him. He burned his side face and lips on the lowest setting. I thought the husband was exaggerating, so I tried my hair. He was right, I was close to my scalp and it almost burn my head. I am not sure if we have a defective one, but even on the lowest setting it was way too hot for my hair and doesnt feel safe at all. I have another straightener that doesn’t do this at all. Do not recommend.

This is the BEST hot comb if you love voluminous, flowy, fluffy straight hair!! Doesn’t leave your hair feeling lifeless and weighted! MUST HAVE!
