Wonderful storage for music stands
I love having this extra tray on my iPad music stand for band rehearsals. The phone holder is actuall perfect for my tuner/metronome. It easily installs on the stand and will hold both my tuner and cell phone with no problem. I can also use it for holding clarinet reeds or other accessories as needed. The material is metal so it is a little heavier than expected, but that doesn't seem to affect its use. This unit functions exactly how I needed it since the iPad stand has no additional storage available. This is a great addition at an affordable price to any portable music stand.

Fits my needs and won't break easily like my former shelf
This stand is working well so far. The cell phone holder does come in handy. It wide enough to hold shakers or a small vocal effects box. The shelf has a fixture that allows the shelf to be fixed to a mike stand securely and the shelf itself is made of metal which means it will be quite durable

Nicely complements my tablet mount
I have a large Samsung tablet mounted on a bracket on my portable music stand (a heavy duty model). This is a nicely sized tray that has an adjustable clamp I used to attach it securely to the tube section (7/8") right under my tablet (easy on and easy off). It's perfect for my purposes, big enough for things like pencils and even my page turning pad. It would not be useful for holding something like drum sticks, but for things like valve oil, glasses, tissues, it does nicely. It has a raised lip around the perimeter so things won't roll off. Inserts are provided to accommodate skinnier tubes. There's also a hook that attaches to the underside for things like polishing cloths or swabs.

I made it work, but only after modification
Better than the plastic ones that are out there, but only after making one big modification. Simply put, the L-bracket on the bottom of the shelf is absolute crap. Anyone having issues with this holding the indicated weight is probably due to that bracket being very thin and flexible. I replaced it with a small steel shelf bracket and improved its load capacity tremendously. This item should not ship with that weak bracket and then claim the weight capacity as stated in the description.

Very handy
Holds my phone, light charger, guitar tools, headphones... very handy. I use my phone for a tuner so this is perfect.

Only buy this if you have low expectations
Completely disappointed in this.First, the anti-slip pad does not fit correctly. You will drive yourself absolutely bonkers trying to line up the holes and the edges while fighting with it wanting to adhere immediately to the tray. The pad is just simply too small. If you somehow manage to line up one hole perfectly, none of the others will be correct, nor will the edges.Second, this is NOT an item that can be quickly and easily added or removed from a mic stand. You need to figure out where you want it on your stand, and leave it. If you install it above the vertical adjustment thing on your stand, then the stand will not collapse all the way down. If you install it below that, it may be too low for you. Your best bet is to leave it permanently attached, which if you're a gigging musician, isn't ideal.Third, you will absolutely wear your fingers to raw nubs attaching this thing to a mic stand. You're essentially attaching two separate, unconnected pieces together with two LONG screws, and doing so in a tight area.Fourth, it's not stable. As stated above, it is painful (literally) to attach to the mic stand as tight as you can, yet it wobbles. You can't tighten it any more, and yet it wobbles. What a joke. All in all, if you have a mic stand that you don't need to break down and move often, and if you're ok with the up front work of putting the thing together, and if you don't mind a non-fitting anti-slip pad, and if you're ok with a wobbly tray, and if you're overall expectations are low, then this is the product for you!
