This painting is the story of many layers. To create an atmospheric nighttime scene, I built the base layer with ink and acrylic sprays, and sponging. The Weeping Willow and Dragonfly went in next by means of a gold leaf application followed by a resin coat. Then I did another resin coat to create an intense depth, using various colors, primarily gold ink on the water. The effect makes this painting as luminescent as a lake full of fireflies and as 3D as being under a weeping willow looking into the glow of the water and the light of the woods. Artfully resin drip sides are a unique touch.
