Tomoe river paper is the best for fountain pen journaling. This book is also fairly sturdy for being “soft” bound. It floats around in a tote bag with lots of books and stays closed!

I have used so much paper with my fountain pens. To me, this is the best paper for daily notes. The size is perfect and the feel of the paper is ideal. The way it takes fountain pen ink is wonderful. The colors are great. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I like the flexibility of the soft cover. The ornate decorative print is a nice touch, and I just noticed that there is a dot grid printed on it. The paper feels thin, but not cheap at all! I've used two different fountain pens (inexpensive Pilot and a Lamy Al-Star) with Pilot iroshizuko (red) ink and Pelikan 4001 (turquoise) and there is no bleed-through or even ghosting on the flip side of the page. I don't write on the left side, so I don't know how that would look. The paper is also very smooth to write on, and both nibs just glide over it in a very pleasing way. I knew right away it was a much better paper than the papers I was previously using.

I had heard of Tomoe River but put off trying it, as I was happy with other brands. I found this notebook for a reasonable price and bought it. I'm really impressed. No fathering or bleed-through. Smooth but with a bit of tooth. It's really nice and I will buy it again. They say it isn't as good as it used to be but I can't see how it could be much better.

Although not quite as good as it was under the old company ownership, Sanzen Tomoe River is still one of the best fountain pen paper on the market. For people using brush pens with sensitive nibs that fray easily, this is also a great choice because of its super smooth texture.

It’s a solid choice for fountain pen users. Shows ink attributes pretty well. It’s a little pricy for everyday use but nice to try out new inks and quick notes.

So good! For how incredibly thin the paper is it preforms so good with ink! I have a pilot custom 74 fountain pen using their ku-jaku ink and it didn’t bleed through the paper at all. So please with this paper. I need to get a notebook!

Tolles Papier. Vor allem, wenn man mit Füller schreibt. Leider sehr overpriced.

Excellent. Ça faisait un moment que je cherchais un cahier avec des pages FINES et qualicatives. En tant que Graphiste, Brand designer, c’est exactement ce que je cherchais. Une attention particulière est faite au type de papier, et je n’avais jamais été autant satisfaite que par ce papier japonais. La finesse est art. Ce carnet n’est pas adapté aux personnes qui recherche un papier qui ne se marque pas à l’encre, sur le verso. Forcément un papier fin, marquera au verso de la feuille et vis-versa. De mon côté, j’adore ça. Je sais que certaine personne n’aime pas ça, mais de mon côté c’est ce que je recherchais. Je trouve que la feuille est plus vivante ainsi, et retranscris exactement les émotions comme elles sont. Excellent cahier pour créatifs.

Había escuchado muy buenas opiniones de este papel y puedo decir que me ha sorprendido lo bien que se ve la tinta. Uso pluma fuente y la tinta tarda un poco en secarse y eso que solamente uso puntas extra finas. El cuaderno es muy delgado y permite escribir fácilmente en ambas hojas.
