I’m not sure what I was expecting, it works, I don’t expect it to never not work. It is just underwhelming to say the least, for some reason I was expecting something with a little more substance to it. It is nice, and works, but it doesn’t have much weight to it, I almost thought it was plastic when I first took it out. I actually tapped it against my teeth just to ensure it was metal. Like I said, it seems to function great, it preserves my pencil tip which is what I wanted from it, but it isn’t a 5-star item.

Very high quality. I ordered the plain metal one and love it. I use it with Blackwing 602 pencils which are the greatest pencils every created (search them up - people are crazy in a good way about the these pencils). I purchased this cap and also an extender for the Blackwings. The pencils are expensive but worth every penny. with the cap and the extender let me get every inch of use out of the pencil with perfect balance. Could not be happier.

Let's face it. For serious writers, arguably, Blackwing pencils are among the finest. Maintain your Blackwing pencil and writing peace of mind with the Blackwing Point Guard. Expensive? Compared to what? Get the best. The alternative? Stop writing. In other words, stop treading water.

This is a handy item if you use Blackwing or similarly sized pencils. However, mine came without the Blackwing emblem on the end and therefore seems more like a knockoff than a genuine product. It was a nice touch that I expected but didn't find. Still useful, but somewhat disappointing.

I am using this with Palomino pencils when I need to carry them in a case to keep the point from breaking or marking up anything in my case. Works great.
