This kit comes with everything you need to make your own solar cables. The ratcheting crimper works well and the MC4 connectors are high quality. This is one of the best purchases I have made in a long while.

I worked for 6 days to figure out an issue in my camper! All along it was simply a solar connector that had corroded/rusted from exposure. Never afraid to buy BougeRV

I had bought another brand prior to this one and the connections were really cheaply made. They wouldn't hold and the base wouldn't screw in right. So frustrating. This brand connections worked great for my project. The crimping tool made a huge difference and made doing the connections much easier and stronger. I'm happy with this purchase.

Great, well organized set!

This crimper is designed for lug type terminals and does three sizes with a ratching-type crimp action. It comes in a nice outer plastic bag and consists of a carrying case and 6 sets of MC4 solar connectors (pairs) complete with good looking "silver plated" inner connector pieces. It also includes two wrenches (identical to each other) that are used for the final tightening of the MC4 connector bodies. The crimper secures in the case with two straps and a velcro binding and the MC4 connector pairs are in velcro closure pouches which keeps everything neat and in order. If a set of connectors are used, it frees up one of the pockets for other accessories like different style cable ends. The case is well made and has a zipper closure (one thing that could be improved is to include a tie in the zipper tongue to make it easier to get hold of - it tends to be hard to reach when unzipped). The sizes of the three crimping dies are labeled with square mm but no information is included on how die size translates to wire size, so that needs to be looked up - a simple instruction sheet would be helpful. Pretty much all that's needed for making good quality crimps for MC4 connectors and other lug type wire ends, and a handy carrying bag that compactly fits in with a tool collection. I had to do a solar install on my RV and needed to make my own wire lengths with connectors so chose this tool kit. I was not disappointed and had no issues with my installation. The connectors and tools worked out just fine and it was helpful that everything was in one bag. I would say for the cost you can't go wrong with this kit.

Nice little kit

The tools definitely help get the connections disconnected much more easily. The crumpet also works well. The connectors don’t “click” into place though when you push the connector in like other solar connectors do.

J’ai trouvé cet outil très utile et facile d’utilisation au sertissage de connecteurs mc4. De plus la trousse contient une dizaine de connecteurs avec les têtes mâles et femelles. Des vidéos sur YouTube faciles à trouver montrent comment faire. J’ai pu fabriquer des rallonges pour mes panneaux solaires avec facilité avec cette pince, par contre dénuder des fils à double gaines est une autre paire de manche!!
