Wilton Creamy White Decorator Icing, Medium Consistency, 4 lb. Tub, Cake Decorating Supplies is a great product. You can use the cream to decorate cakes and cupcakes. It works for cookies, too, but I recommend making it stiffer if you're going to use it on cookies. To make it more stiff, you just add a little confectioners sugar. I you want to make it thinner, add very little water. It will do the trick. Of course, you can also buy this icing in different thicknesses if you don't want to do that. This one is medium thickness, but there are also stiff and thin thicknesses. This icing works beautifully for spreading on cakes and decorating them. It also works great with icing tips. You can use this to decorate cakes and cupcakes. It tastes like cream, very sweet but not bad. You can also add food coloring to change the color. This 4 lb. container of frosting / icing is great if you're going to be using a lot. It saves money to but his insteadd of tons of small ones. I recommend this.

This was my first time making and icing a cake, so I had no idea what I was doing ... but I watched a LOT of YouTube videos, so what could possibly go wrong, right!? 😂 Everything turned out great, but I'm pretty sure it's mostly because this icing was DELICIOUS! It was very easy to work with, the price was great and we had more than enough in the 4lb tub to cover and pipe colored icing decorations onto the 10 inch 2-layer round and the 6 inch 2-layer round on the top. (The 8" middle was tiramisu with mascarpone, so we didn't use the icing on that layer.) Best of all, regardless of the cake flavors, it definitely made the cake taste like wedding cake!

I really like this product and I am glad I ordered it. It's easy to use and I also love the fact that it's shelf stable especially when frosting cupcakes, cookies and to use as crumb coat. I won't use this as an ACTUAL icing on a cake since it does taste artificial and it doesn't fully stiffen the way real buttercream does. Otherwise, good product and great price point as well.

Something has gone wrong at Wilton. I have used this product with no problems, but lately there is a chemical taste and smell to this. I used it recently for 4th of July cake (2022), and there was a subtle chemical smell and taste. This last time (July 17 2022), I used it for a birthday cake just yesterday. I could smell and taste the problem, but kept hoping it would go away. It did not. The cake was only a 5-layer 6” cake, and luckily for me, it was saved for last after other desserts were served (pies and another cake), so only part of it was eaten. I am so embarrassed by the overall product, that this morning I took the cake apart, scraped all the frosting off, and re-assembled it with a homemade buttercream that I made this morning. Unfortunately, some residual taste is still on the cake, but at least when the birthday girl stops by for the cake, it will be much improved. Everyone was very polite about it, but you could see the frosting left on their plates. It was only my husband who confirmed to me that the frosting was awful. It didn’t used to be like this, so I’m not sure what went wrong. And I will admit that I did not check the expiration date (sold by myh international) as I had received it only a day earlier. By the time I had taken it all out of the tub and mixed it we had cleaned the tub and disposed of the packaging. But I just can’t ever trust this product again. I spend a lot of time on making my cakes, usually over the course of three days. I can’t afford for something like this to ruin it.

Needed icing for 48 cupcakes and wasn’t about to make my own after baking them. Purchase this with hopes that it would not be grainy. First, driver left at front door right in direct sun all day. As soon as I got home I put in the fridge for several hours. Then just before use I took out and let stand to get back to room temperature. It needs to be mixed. I just mixed a large frosting spatula for a couple on minutes ensuring a smooth constituency. One tub frosted exactly 48 cupcakes with small swirls. If Doing large ice cream scoops or larger swirl tops - I’d ordered 2 or 3 tubs depending on what you are doing and how many cupcakes. The taste was great even passing my 15 year old daughters taste test. I frosted the night before event and stored them in fridge overnight. the frosting stood pretty well for the next days event even with it being hot out with little melting. Would by again.

Total time saver when making a large cake for my daughter's birthday. The flavor was OK but not great, but keep in mind it is canned frosting. It spread well, and was great for decorating the cake as well.

We did a Nerf themed birthday party and bought this online. I needed something stiffer than store bought frosting and I’m not a baker. I tried this out and loved it. Used Wilton’s gel dye and Wilton’s 3 color frosting coupler to do the swirl. All pretty easy for a not-crafty person. Frosting held up great and the group loved it. Said it wasn’t too sweet. Made 24 cupcakes and frosted a 9” round. Still had enough frosting to do about another dozen cupcakes after. Definitely recommend and will reorder.

I used gel colors and the colors came out nicely. The piped designs didn't hold up as well as I would have liked. It has a plastic smell and the taste was only ok. Not the Wilton icing I'm used to. I thought I may have received a bad batch so I picked some up at the local craft store and it was the same, so not the sellers fault. I think I will just start making my own icing.

Icing was in date but it had ‘split’ and ‘turned’ bad. I was unable to decorate with this icing even after several attempts. I through it in the bin.
