This is so easy to use, just smooth hair into a nice ponytail, secure with an elastic band, then run it through the center of the bun maker, slide down (not all the way, but before ends start to come out), fold the ends of your hair inward onto the length, then start turning the bun maker towards your head. Once you can't turn it, just take the ends and bend together downward to make a circle, and slide your hair to cover up where the ends meet. Sometimes I need a bobby pin at the bottom, to secure this meeting point, sometimes I do not. In any case, I end up with a nice bun all day long. BUT, the best thing to use these for is to make long curly waves in long hair. Take a section of hair, spray lightly with water to dampen and any type of holding product you like ( I use a little hairspray), then holding the bun maker vertically with one hand and somewhat close to your scalp, use the other hand to take the length of hair about midway, and start wrapping it around going down the length of the bun maker, have the winding go back away from your face, do not wrap forward (forget about the center hole, use the entire length of the bun maker), then bend both ends over. Do this all over. I divide my hair into 4 sections, so 4 bun makers is all I need. Anyhow, about 2 hours later when hair is completely dry, unwrap and finger comb. You will have long lasting curly long waves. I tried sleeping with them on, which would have been optimal, but they bothered me. Maybe if I had a shower cap or something like that it wouldn't be so bad. Anyhow, that is what I originally bought these for, making my hair wavy. The fact that I can finally have thick buns, is a plus. Review: Perfect bun, built in cutler, so easy - I love these! The fabric does stretch out a bit over time (think worn 2-3xs a week for over a year). For work I can get the perfect bun, way easier than those sock buns people used to do. I also have wavy/curly hair so when I take this out my hair looks like it was just in rollers. Was perfect for business trips to transition from in office to client dinners in minimal time. I LOVE THESE!

Waste for long hair
This didn’t work for my long hair. Not strong enough to hold the hair up and just flopped out. Wouldn’t work for thick hair either I don’t think. No hair with any weight to it. Super bummer.

Not large
I wanna remember it stated that these were large. They are not large they’re actually small to medium so if you have long thick hair like I do the very hard to work with. I love the simplicity of the style. It does make a nice bun. But it needs to be larger

Design partially worked, but NOT FOR THIN HAIR. Too big.
Unfortunately I had to return this item. I have thin hair and part of the design did not work for me even if I had thicker hair for the large size. The ends of the product were bulky and not flush in length with the middle which didn’t work well when I tried the bun. If you have lots of hair, these will be great for you! I did love the mechanism of putting my hair through the middle and rolling my hair up. That was easy! I have used other bun makers like the one that looks like a huge mesh scrunchy and always wanted to try this type of way. This way is easier. Yes, layered hair is annoyed for these but that’s why you can tuck and use Bobby pins, so that doesn’t bother me really. Hope this helps! Do not buy the large size for thin hair! Maybe try the smalls. I wanted to love these and tried multiple times to make it work.

So I need these to put my hair up in a nice perfect bun
I bought these online becuase it came as a package of more than one. I'm a FA and have long brown hair. So I need these to put my hair up in a nice perfect bun. There so great and easy to use. They work for me way way! Better than the other typical donut bun maker. All you do is put your hair in a ponytail and slip your hair thru the opening and clamp it closed, then fold it up and up and wrap around with the ends facing down toward the back and just use Bobby pins to secure it.

Cheap quality
I ordered these because the stores only seem to have black and blonde; hard to find brown. The black one I got at Walmart has held up great for months, but I wanted one that matched my hair color. This does. But it started to rip after only 1 use! The metal is all exposed. This product will clearly be disposable- I will use each one for a short while, and then have to replace it. In terms of functionality, it is great; much better than those donut shaped bun makers. It gives your bun some more volume, and keeps it looking fancier and neater. I use a few claw grips, and the bun looks nice all day. Too bad the product is not too sturdy though.

Military bun
Works great. After a while the sponge gets twisted but my bun still looks good. I put a secret Bobby pin in to secure to my head. Great product instead of the donut or sock.
