I cut out a section of boat bench ( aluminum 14’ ) and placed the boat battery inside , this hatch lid was used to replace the cut aluminum/ act as an easy way to access battery while keep water/sunlight heat from getting to it …Long story short worked out great , strong enough to still sit on , the locks work smooth , ZERO complaints other then I wanted a light grey LOL
