When using the heater for only two people, the heat shield is a great idea. Saves on propane and directs all hear it the area we want it. Very good quality and has a brace to protect bending the top of the heater when it's windy. The bracelet is a must but does make it more time consuming if you want to take off the shield often.

If you bought your patio/table top heater, this is a must have. I bought both before winter, kept me warm outside but I was huddled extremely close to the heater. The shield redirects the heat beautifully.Assembly was pretty easy. I had my son help me, to get him away from the video games. We used a power drill to speed things up, which is optional. You could, if you wanted to, tightening everything by hand. There are TWO versions of this heat shield. I believe this one I'm reviewing has an extra arm/brace (for the Large Patio Heater) to ensure sturdiness. I'm just guessing which one it is based on the picture. If it is the one with the brace, we haven't put that one together yet. Finally putting the big heater's heat shield up. It's planned for this weekend, along with the reflective cover to keep it from getting weathered.All in all: is a great buy. It redirects your heat and it makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE. $40+/- to stay, not only warm, but toasty, since you bought this shield. Seriously though, I couldn't believe how much of a difference this thing makes - and for a piece of metal. You won't regret this purchase, for sure.Install: Basing it off of the SMALL Tabletop Heater - installation was fairly easy! I'll update once I get the Large Heater Shield installed.Heat Output: These shields are amazing and I don't recommend NOT getting one with the purchase of your heater.Safety Features: not sure what Safety features this thing has. I mean, it's a shield that is metal and it gets hot and you're not suppose to touch it.

This has kept me toasty in the winter and other seasons on cold days and nights while I sit on my patio to enjoy a cigar. I thought about getting a hanging-style ceiling heater but opted for this as it promised to radiate heat farther. I would say the coverage is enhanced by the heater reflector shield (sold separately), which not only protects the column it's positioned near from intense heat but directs the heat toward the center of the patio. At least my side of the patio is warm. ;-)

I had ordered 2 East oak heaters a year ago, and due to my negligence, they had blow over and the heat reflector shields had gotten bent beyond repair. I was thrilled when I found that they made replacements for them. They shipped early and I received them and replaced the old ones with the new one. They fit perfectly and I am extremely satisfied!

The item was delivered earlier than expected. It is working fine. It is helping to deliver at least 66% of the heat towards my seating area. My only complaint is that I was sent a used item. Someone else had returned it. It had a few blemishes, but it is for the outdoors so I am keeping it. I would recommend this item.

Makes late fall seem like a summer evening. Great hardware and assembly instructions

Yesterday I installed the reflector panels.I have some observations.I recommend that the support bracket should be provided with SLOTS instead of HOLES to attach them to the screws that support the top burner assembly.  It becomes very difficult to align the bolts correctly (you have to remove 2 to attach the support bracket).  I struggled.  Ended up with attaching only one side of that bracket.
