Worked perfectly on a backpacker
Works perfectly, would recommend. Used so you can rack the bolt to release hold

If you have a 10/22 you need this!
This is a cheap but absolutely essential upgrade for a 10/22. A couple of friends told me I had to get an auto bolt release when I picked up a 10/22 takedown. They were not kidding, this is much better than the default setup. Install was pretty simple and only took a few minutes. Just make sure to clear your rifle before you begin any work!

Works great after adjusting slot size
I used to not understand why people complained about the factory bolt lock. I used to always shoot my 10/22 off hand while standing, and it was always easy for me to release the lock while carrying it in a low position. Then I recently started shooting at a range where I’m usually seated and the gun is sitting up on a rest, and I quickly found it to be awkward and cumbersome to release the bolt lock. So I recently installed this bolt lock, and other than one problem, it works great. Now the bolt is unlocked quickly, and with no hassles. This is the way Ruger should make them, instead of what they do. The one problem I had during installation was the lower/smaller slot was just a bit too narrow, so the pin couldn’t fit through it. Took just a little bit of time with a small round file to open it up enough to fit. So after that tiny adjustment, it fit together well in all other aspects and functioned correctly every time I tried it. Gave it 4 out of 5 stars due to having to make this adjustment, rather than it being sized correctly out of the package.

Works Well
With the Brownells YouTube channel, it was super easy to install. Just needed a punch and a flat-head screwdriver. Love being able to slingshot the bolt back into battery. No more fiddling with it any longer.

Works great. If ya have to jiggle it...you reassembled it incorrectly
Great. Works perfectly now. Beware the reassembly. If you feel you need to jiggle it to work, then you missed the end of the spring that fits into THE NOTCH on THIS PIECE when you reassembled it. One end of that spring is in the notch...and the other end...under tension....is held under the pin that holds this piece and the shell ejector.

does it work ?
installed on 2 Rugers, still have to the give the bolt a little jiggle to get it to go forward, hoping it just needs a break in period
