The Nextbase IQ-2K and this rear camera are absolutely, bar none, the single worst purchases I have ever made. This camera has been one disappointing failure after another. Starting with the first unit bricking during initialization, getting stuck in an endless initialization loop. It got worse when I was in an accident and instead of saving the impact footage, the camera seems to have preserve only the low quality thumbnail copy. Every time I try to download the from the cloud, I get an endless, insurmountable series of errors that keep me from obtaining the HQ footage. All of that was months ago! Since then, I've enjoyed the full gamut of random reboots; random lost footage; random inability to remotely access the camera; random inability to view footage or retrieve footage from the cloud; a camera that cannot function when the outdoor ambient temperature exceeds 85 degrees (allegedly this is to protect the camera from over heating - which means that from mid spring to early fall in California, the camera is completely useless and will shut down daily without fail and will not even restart when the temps cool back down, making it necessary for me to manually pull the plug daily to force a reboot -JOY!); a rear camera that frequently is unavailable or otherwise inoperable; and so, so, so much aggravation! The icing on the cake that tonight, I witnessed a gnarly accident. The kind that it happen so fast, that the event was so kinetic, that I mentally cannot say for sure what it is that I saw happen. All I know is on party landed on their roof after jumping a median and another vehicle had some major quarter panel damage. I very much looked forward to reviewing that footage this evening. But as has been my experience with this POS, the 30 seconds roughly before the accident recorded and was recoverable from the SD card, but the actual accident and moment of impact in the next 30 second segment took a poop and somehow the file corrupted. You can see the distinct discrepancy in the file sizes in one of my phots. This was the straw the broke the camelback moment so to speak and I am literally channeling Lewis Black Back in Black levels of rage into this review. This is my first and only Nextbase product I will own. Tomorrow, I break out the ball ping hammer and blow torch and see what the insides of this stupid camera look like.

Very simple and straight forward to install. Also purchased the front cam and they work perfectly together. Picture is high quality. Love the ability to get notifications on my phone if movement is detected around my car. Our neighborhood has experienced some car break ins recently, and now I have piece of mind I will be able to act quickly if anything happens as well as get a clear image of anyone around my car. Worth every penny!

I got the Nextbase IQ 4K. The camera is excellent and works great, but the rear dash cam needs and update or firmware asap. It barely works and disconnects all the time from the app. Nextbase definitely needs to update the cameras software more often. I’m using the latest firmware on the camera and the latest app version. The software has way too many bugs, they did a horrible job testing it. Once the connection issues are fix, I’ll update my review!

Super simple install - did it myself. Image clarity is superb compared to my previous dash cam system as well. The parking feature is really cool - kind of like the Tesla cams that show people or aother vehicles near your car - and I feel like that could come in handy down the road. I'd recommend it and I'm even considering getting another one for my other car!

Would not set up or work. Same thing happened with the iQ main camera and had to send it back. Did every thing according to instructions. Contacted customer support and everything they had me try did not work. Even after multiple attempts, nothing helped. Still waiting for more help and has been over a week without further contact.

I was intimidated at 1st but once I installed the camera I found it to be EXTREMELY easy. Nextbase is a premium brand and the video resolution is exactly what I was looking for. Stoked on the product and brand!

Dashcam itself is 5 stars. However uploading is a nightmare. You have to take the card out and I dont understand why, when parked at your house, these videos can't be automatically saved to a cloud. Ive queried this. I'm paying £9.99 for the full security package, if I need footage, I want to be able to access it instantly. Every feature is amazing , apart from that one thing.

After firmware update the rear camera works as expected, one star dropped as takes ages to update and there are no real instructions on the app.

Added this to the front camera. Both are disappointing they either don’t work or no better than dash cams at a quarter of the price. There customer service is a joke to nonexistent I will never buy a Nextbase again
