Powerful computer for the price
This is a reconditioned computer that works perfectly with all the new software. No issues at all plugged it in and set it up.

Great PC for the money but I had problems with the included peripherals.
I bought this refurbished HP EliteDesk 800 to replace an old laptop I was using that could not be upgraded to Windows 11. The PC itself is great! It has a small footprint and is lightning fast for what I need it for (mainly web browsing, music editing and office applications). However, some of the peripherals that came with it were not so great. So far, I have had to replace the Wifi adapter and the Display Port to HDMI adapter. I do applaud Amazon for standing by their product and crediting me back enough money that I could purchase the replacement parts at no additional cost to me.

Great product!
My knees are recovering from hitting the housing that was under the desk on my old standalone. I'm a home user who doesn't really take advantage of all the capabilities it offers, but it's on-line reviews were exceptional. I love the small size and it sits nicely beside my computer or behind it. This little giant does everything I need it to do, extremely fast, it multitasks well, loads applications quickly, and has enough ports.

Worth the money
Came as advertised and works great. I'm using it as a backup work pc.

get a better one (with higher price)
Quality matched the low price, not good. I had to return it because it can't be turned on reliably. Most of time it just won't start no matter how many time you push the power button. I was able to finish the windows update, then it won't start. Pay more to get the better quality cheap refurbished one. The return was easy though once you explain the reason during the online support chat.

I was searching for a Plex Media server upgrade to my aging and stuck-on-Windows-10 HP EliteBook, and my reseach brought me to this listing. This is the first time I've ever bought a PC refurbished, and also my first experience with SFF PCs like this one originally designed for business/commercial use (all my other PCs were consumer oriented). As with most refurbished products, you never really know what will happen and you just gotta trust that the company did their due diligence with it before selling it to you. UNBOXING: Out of the box, the packaging is very generous and was basically more than enough to pad all the crucial components. It came in the super thick bubble wrap that made it impossible to rattle around in the box. The mouse and keyboard came in a separated box, and other accessories were in separate bags. CONDITION: I don't know if I got lucky or maybe this company really does refurb items properly, but my unit was pretty much immaculate inside and out. No visible scratches or scuffs on the outside, and the inside was shockingly dust-free. The ports all looked perfect (usually they would get mangled or scuffed up from constant use), and the AC power adapter was equally as immaculate. Either way, I'm more than satisfied BOOTING UP: Setting it up was was dead simple. Turning it on brings you to the "HP Secure Boot" screen and you load straight into the Windows 11 setup screen. It was definitely a good taste of the performance of this PC because it just blazed through the setup screens. IN USE: The clean Windows 11 installation was definitely true, because there was basically ZERO bloatware pre-installed. After all the updates that it installed shortly after setup, getting everything up and ready for my Plex server use was incredibly fast and simple. The i5-8500T (which I specifically looked for in my research since this gen of CPU had the improved Intel Quick Sync), 16GB of RAM and the 256GB SSD are such a big step up. Even after opening up various Chrome tabs, NAS software, and transcoding my media library fails to cause this system to slow down or run into any performance issue. The fan does spool up and the PC gets a bit warm, but unless you have this PC right near your face or you have it placed on your hands, you won't really notice it running. ACCESSORIES: they were generous to include the mouse and keyboard, WIFI + BT dongle, and DisplayPort dongle in the package. While they all worked pretty well, I only ended up using the DisplayPort dongle and the WIFI + BT dongle ONLY for the BT. My own mouse and keyboard were better, and Ethernet will ALWAYS trump WIFI especially for Plex use. The WIFI + BT is half-hit half-miss. The BT part works pretty well with no disconnects experienced, but the Realtek chip for WIFI using the archaic 802.11n standard; my Wifi speeds were limited to 140-160mpbs up/down For comparison, my gigabit Ethernet basically hit 980mpbs up/down. If you have an Ethernet connection available, I STRONGLY suggest you use it with this PC. VERDICT: This PC and, by extension, this refurb company have definitely set the bar high because I am very happy with this PC. While long terms reliable is still up in the air, the fact that this SFF PC with an 8th gen CPU was basically in immaculate condition and runs like a $1000+ machine is impressive. I'll update my review if I run into any issues down the line, but for now, solid 10/10

This little PC came extremely well-packaged and in nearly-new condition. I've used it to replace a much larger, power-hungry machine with no loss of practical everyday performance. The price has gone up since I purchased it, but at the time it was cheaper to purchase the entire mini PC than replacing a video card and power supply, plus it comes with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed. There's a lot to be said for using these to replace windows 10 machines that can't be upgraded. The performance-per-dollar is better than many of the new mini-PCs. Included was a wifi/bluetooth 2-in-1 adapter. This allows them to advertise the wifi and bluetooth connectivity as part of the PC. I didn't need either (used ethernet) so now I have that adapter to be used elsewhere. There is a DP to HDMI adapter included as well - it wasn't the best and I needed to swap it for a startech one I've had for years to connect to my receiver properly. It should work fine for regular monitors, however. The only thing I don't like is the fan noise. It's actually as loud as my desktop was and it's constant. Even when the PC is idle, the fan is revving up and back down. It sounds like an overworked laptop and it's pretty annoying. There's no obvious cure for this (other people try replacing fans with no luck.) I may redo the thermal paste and see if that helps it keep cool at idle.

Received it in literally perfect condition, not a scratch or a speck of dust inside or outside. I was a bit worried about receiving one with cheap USB wifi and bluetooth, but thankfully it came with the internal Intel WIFI+BT card, as well as a WD SN720 NVMe SSD, as well as dual channel 2x8GB ram, which is better for video performance on the integrated GPU. The included DP-HDMI adapter works perfectly at 4k/60hz. Clean Win11 Pro setup without any additional preloaded stuff. Appreciate that it did not include e-waste keyboard/mouse.

It's useless without the HDMI aodapter, so how can I even check it? So, my second review is, because it didn't come with the adapter, I had to test it away from the modem, using the provided USB Wi-Fi dongle... And the performance was a bunch of cheap garbage which could not hold a connection, causing me to set up a hotspot with my phone right next to it. In fact, the Wi-Fi dongle provided is worth about 1.83. If you're buying refurbished things, you should at least expect marginal functionality... Consider this, the Wi-Fi dongle that was included came with a mini CD driver, even though the mini tower does not support that ... And, the website of the manufacturer of that Wi-Fi dongle, is no longer in business. So, on the record, so far, the seller is laughable And, it gets better, having gone through a garbage aged Wi-Fi dongle that couldn't find my home network until I went through the startup process using a hotspot... And waiting for the HDMI to display port adapter I had to order myself because I didn't want to wait to arrive.. Things worked swimmingly, until today when I realized that the only thing I'm saying is (get ready for a laugh) HP "Sure start", which then hangs on a black screen... I know enough about computers and anything else that if you have this many problems at the beginning, send it back, and call out the seller for selling junk.
