Excellent laser for the price.
Works very well! Tested against a cheaper Motovera that was half the price and it's very very similar in performance. The Huepar has a slightly different construction with an angled front, coated glass, and more robust looking lasers/construction inside. This Motovera felt a little cheaper in construction, the laser unit inside was much smaller and plastic (Huepar laser body inside appears to be metal). The laser lines are accurate, crisp, and level/plumb. With the angled front glass, the laser lines of the Huepar are much longer vertically than the Motovera. Laser line brightness was identical to the Motovera. Easily visible inside under any lighting conditions. Visible outside in late afternoon shade (full sun out still), but only for about 15-20 feet away. I really like that you can look the pendulum to put the lines off-axis. Shockingly, none of the vastly more expensive laser levels from Bosch or Dewalt offer this basic feature. I ended up keeping the more expensive Huepar simply because the build quality felt better and perhaps will last longer than the Motovera. The Huepar also uses 4 batteries instead of 2 with the Motovera, so it should last twice as long before battery changes (even though it's the same quantity of batteries overall, less hassle in changing frequency).

Actually, sort-a works outdoors too
Well, it's suddenly turned hot again so I've postponed the camp leveling project this Huepar was purchased for. I have, however, ducked around with it a bit and find the green laser is, in fact, visible (if just barely)15-20 feet outdoors in bright summer sun (I'm sure it'll be even better on a cloudy day). This will be adequate for my purposes and I won't have to spring for a Huepar receiver (but nice to know that's an option). I'm looking forward the putting the Huepar through it's paces in this project (although less looking forward to snaking through the crawlspaces the project will require). Nice and bright indoors, of course.

Great level for household use
We just moved in to a new home and I bought this level to hang a bunch of pictures. It worked great. It is very easy to setup and use. Very bright line. And when I check it with a 4 ft. level it is accurate (at least accurate enough for me and hanging pictures). A couple things. One you can not tilt the unit to move the line up and down. I f you want to place the line 8 ft off the ground the unit will need to be placed on something 8 ft off the ground. It worked great with my camera tripod. Second, the line shakes with every vibration in the room. I learned just how much my new floors bounce, but once I stood still and was ready to hang the picture it projected a nice steady reference line. I read a lot of reviews before buying this one, and to me most of the negative reviews were people expecting the performance of a higher end product, or people that received a dud. Neither were true in my case. Again, for me for home use and DIY use it works great.

Used for ceiling LED lights project in garage
I purchased this because it was inexpensive to complete a DIY project of installing ceiling LED lights in our garage. It worked great. Ease of use and bright green laser lines were very helpful.

Excellent for the price!
I know you don't want to hear this but claiming this works outdoors is a bit misleading. I bought it to use building a retaining wall, but in full sun, the laser is visible at 5 feet and not beyond that. If you look at the outdoor photo I've attached, you can see that the laser is somewhat washed out at 15 feet, but it is overcast and drizzling here in Oregon in this photo. You cannot see the laser at 30 feet and forget about 100 feet! Even still the laser is useful outdoor for close up leveling and I'd rather have it than not.You have to get creative with the way you use it. For example, I can point the laser at the retaining wall block face and I can see the green line 10 feet out in both directions. With it set to self-leveling, it can display a detectable green line on the wall to align the blocks with, and that's a big help. The wall is not finished yet, otherwise I would include a photo. When I'm done maybe I will. The laser is outstanding for all indoor use as you can see in the second attached photo. Accuracy is excellent and its claimed functionality works great. I like this device a lot. It's solid and the magnets on the stand are very powerful and hold it solidly in place. I bought a piece of metal U-bar to hammer in the ground and then I place the device on it using the magnets, works great.
