Works for me
I successfully use this to raise the pH of food stuffs. I bought it in February 2024, and my sensitive nose could not detect any smell. I use it for hydrating faba bean protein concentrate and for an alkaline brine for hydrating beans (1 cup dry beans, 700mL water, 28g salt, 7g K-carb; 8–9 hrs room temp + 10–11 hrs in fridge). I do use a citric acid stop bath (4g/2.5c water) for 5 minutes to freshen the beans up and then they taste great. Now you know my secret!

Smells perfumy
I would reach out to the company before submitting this review, but I saw no way to do so. This is the second time I purchased this product. This time, I noticed a perfumy smell to it that I had not noticed before. Did I just miss it the first time? I don't think so. Especially since I researched K2CO3 and discovered it is supposed to be odorless. I use this for a food product, and do not want any artificial perfumes in it.

I bought this by mistake
I purchased this by mistake, I was supposed to buy calcium chloride, and somehow ended up buying this. With that said, it came in a thick clear plastic bag, the quality was nice, pure white, consistent color, and clearly labeled as the proper chemical compound.

Seems to be what it is
I haven't gotten to do any real testing yet but I have salted some ethanol with it an it seemed to work ok? Cheapest price on Amazon an fastest shipping but still a bit steep but what isn't these days. Everything is at LEAST 2 dollars more then it should be.

Great PH UP
This works great as a PH buffer. Raises PH in H20 and it doesn’t take much. So use it sparingly. Especially with smaller amounts of water. Will purchase again and highly recommend this over baking soda. As it can be problematic for plays over time.

This works wonderfully on lawns, to add the K of NPK. It also acts as a very fast adjuster of pH. If you have an acidic soil, you know calcium carbonate (dolomite limestone powder) takes a long time to raise the pH and make the soil less acidic. I added at the rate of 1 gram per square ft, in a shaded lawn, and the results were much greener grass, with better nutrient uptake from the potassium, as well as reduction in the negative effects of acidic soil.
