Fantastic winter game by trusted brand.
Fantastic winter themed game which highlights all the strengths of the brand. The booklet explains the rules clearly and answers are included which can aid understanding how to minimise your moves. Enjoyed by the whole family so a wide age range, allowing for problem solving, lateral thinking and communication. Pieces are well made and will travel well.

A move planning game with increasing challenges
A Limited Edition Snow Problem Game from The Happy Puzzle Company. Good quality pieces with a snowscape game board , 3 trees and 3 x 3 part snowmen . The game comes with a puzzle book and 80 challenges to solve of increasing difficulty. Take them on solo or take in turns with others . Add players as it gets more difficult or carry on solo . Easy to learn game play where the challenge is to build the snowman by moving the pieces within the rules of play. It sounds simple but takes a lot of thinking about especially as the challenges get more difficult. Theres an indication of the maximum moves you should complete the game in . Snowball pieces can only move towards blocking pieces such as trees or other snowman bits . Once blocked from moving forward they can change direction . Stack middle on bottom ,head on the two lower parts but no stacked pieces can move . Yes it’s good fun and you get absorbed and sometimes a little frustrated in solving these challenges. Cleverly designed to be solved but not quickly , great for testing the brain and thinking a few moves ahead . Good for all abilities , quietly consuming ..once you’ve solved those difficult ones new game play is limited .

Good game if there's no snow
Clever game either for an individual or a group. Make sure you watch a video to get a good explanation on how to play.

Wonderful game
A magnificent game, cleverly designed by Raf Peeters and with the neat finish typical of Smart Games.

Not our favourite
Neutral review, we loved the genius square and genius star game and had high hopes for this. Unfortunately we could not grasp it and child had no interest despite also loving previous games. It is a single player game whereas we prefer multiplayer.

Perfect Xmas Fun - but not as unique as other Smart games
Snow Problem is just a brilliant idea as Xmas gift if the family is into logic puzzles. This can be enjoyed by kids and adults alike, as the earlier levels can be completed by the kids and then the master/wizard levels are sure to get the adults thinking too. It is primarily designed as one person game but we do like to do this with the kids and help them along the way in case they get stuck (or have a sneaky peak at the solutions at the back!). In the box you get a white board in the guise of a snowy landscape, three trees and three snowmen separated into three segments. All the pieces are well made as expected from this company but I would have liked some kind of bag or case included to keep it all together instead of having it in a box. The aim of the game is to move your dismembered snowperson or persons across the board in the lowest number of moves (indicated by the arrowed number next to the challenge number in the booklet). Sounds simple enough, but when you throw in three snowmen in three separate pieces it does get tricky towards the later levels. Initially I did not understand the instructions as I thought moving into each recess counts as a move, but the bottom and middle section of the snowmen can actually move all the way across the board (head cannot move) as long as there is an obstacle in the way which then counts as one move. I feel like the booklet could have been clearer in indicating that sliding all the way across to a tree, for example, constitutes a move. A simple diagram showing an arrow moving across the board to an obstacle would have sufficed. Once I had fully understood the instructions, I found myself doing one challenge after another! It is quite addictive and satisfying to build these little snowmen. Although this was a fun game to play, you may be familiar with this format but not in the form of snowmen, so it is not as unique as some of the other Smart games we have tried. Even so, it is a perfect game to play during Xmas time so would make a lovely gift for young kids and adults alike. My kids had a blast testing this out for a day. I have now put this away and will wrap it up for them to complete when the festivities begin. Bah humbug!
