I like it its a good item I strongly recommend. I chose this rating cause is a good item. but not really good

I'm using this for the first time as the text for my pre-collegiate community college ESL reading/writing course. I basically like it a whole lot. All the pieces of putting a research paper are well mapped out for the students, grammar is skillfully interwoven with writing assignments, and the quantity and type of reading probably prepares them for what they will soon have to deal with in other courses. The only minus is that I and some of my students have reacted negatively to a few of the biases that appear in the reading. A passage from an economics text, for example, discussing causes of poverty in developing countries, oddly omits any mention of colonization and for some reason dwells at some length on the idea that religion is a contributing factor--that Buddhism and Hinduism somehow put a brake on economic development. A puzzling and actually rather offensive analysis from the point of view of Southeast Asian Buddhists, as it turns out. However, it's an opportunity for them to read a textbook with a critical eye, and now they have Buddhism and economic development as a possible research paper topic.
