Good gasket maker, but watch the cure time
I have used Permatex products for years. I tried the Optimum Black because it's supposed to have the highest oil resistance. The product works well. The only issue is that you have to be careful of the cure times. At lower temperatures this sealant will take more than 24 hours to cure. I used it on a valve cover in a garage that was 45 degrees and it took several days to fully cure.

Excellent sealer with real grip
I can't say this stuff is easy to remove once applied as the only time I had to remove a piece I had used the product on it put up a heck of a fight coming off. That proved that it had created a tight seal which is what I wanted. Vibration wasn't going to lossen it that's for sure. Application can be messy if you get in a hurry but its ability to create a tight seal with a firm holding power would be hard to duplicate this side of a weld.

Good bond, hard to despense
Bead maker out of a tube is really hard to despense and make a nice one piece bead. The seal is still holding tho.
