Anyone who read my first review of the Syma X5HW must think that it wouldn't even make a good paperweight. That review was a bit premature. After reading several reviews and seeing various videos online I became convinced that I had received a defective unit. After receiving a second example and testing it out I am happy to report that everything works exactly as advertised: the drone binds from a reasonable distance of 10-12 ft, control response is good, and the altitude hold feature works fairly well. Battery charging time is approx. 55 minutes. One or two caveats: I would STRONGLY recommend that additional batteries with charging adaptors be purchased, since the USB cable supplied is unreliable. Use another charging cable, if you have one, and {2} the video downlink is very temperamental. However, even with these shortcomings, the X5HW is a satisfactory drone for the beginner or weekend flier and this one, at least, is a keeper.

Drom Is easy to fly. I buy 4 to give to kids in my family.Had problems with motors with 2 of the 4 that I buy out of the box. Over all I give it 3 stars

One of the best beginner drones for the price. The altitude hold helps beginners learn to fly.

I like how it flys, but you have to fly in low wind.
