INCREDIBLE BOOST UPGRADING FROM RYZEN 7 1700 TO RYZEN 7 5700 X3D
I play a lot of PC games and ran into FPS issues when playing the game "Valheim." At this point in time, I thought the GPU was the only thing that made a performance difference with PC games. I had a Ryzen 7 1700 paired with an ASUS 2080Ti OC and could run most modern games on high at around 100FPS when the 2080Ti originally released. Fast forward 4 years and I run into a game that is more CPU dependent and demanding in Valheim than anything I have ever ran on my PC prior. Needless to say, I was getting sub 60FPS in busy areas of the game and it felt unplayable. My good friend suggested to me that my system might be bottle-necked by my CPU, essentially saying I am paying for performance that my machine cannot access in my GPU. So since I have an AM4 chip, I did a search on what were the best upgrade options. The clear winner I saw was the 5800 X3D, however the price was not a winner (~$600 at the time of writing this review), so I went with the much more affordable 5700 X3D with a 5% performance decrease for $270. For the price to performance ratio, there is no CPU in the 5700 X3D's class.Even though I now have incredible FPS in all of my games (Valheim going from ~30FPS to ~120+FPS), pure FPS increase in games is not the only benefit I received from upgrading to the 5700 X3D. My old 1700 would not allow me to run my RAM over 2667MHz or enable "gaming boost" mode on my motherboard. Whenever I would try, my system would restart claiming that the configuration failed. After upgrading to the 5700 X3D, I am able to run my RAM at 3200MHz and also enable "gaming boost" mode on my motherboard with no issues. It seems my old 1700 did not have the horsepower to push those frequencies. If you are in the market for an AM4 CPU, going with the 5700 X3D is a great choice. Depending on where you are upgrading from, you will see either a significant upgrade in quality, or a respectable one. Since I am upgrading from a 1700, my experience has been incredible. The 5700 X3D CPU unlocked performance that I was paying for previously in my GPU, but could not access due to my CPU bottleneck. I have read some reviews claiming even "downgrading" from a 5800 shows some improvement. YMMV. I can only claim that if you are upgrading from a CPU around the Ryzen 7 1700's power level, this one is an easy decision - get this CPU! The 5700 X3D is a workhorse and shreds anything I throw at it. Five stars.

Fantastic gaming CPU
Replaced my aging (but still viable) Ryzen 5 2600 with this, what a difference without a total mainboard make over! The X3D extra L3 cache makes a huge difference gaming, coupled with a RTX video card and it's unreal. I went back and forth between a whole new system (AM5 mainboard, etc) and just replacing the CPU to get another few years, probably more than five at this rate, out of my AM4 system. My Asus B-450M-A has 32GB of G.Skill DDR, I replaced the 2TB NVMe drive with a 4 TB model as well, added an AIO cooler which was also a welcome change, though my tried but true Noctua huge heatsink always did the trick over the years, the extra space is nice now having just the cooler block / water pump in there. My overall goal was to upgrade to Windows 11 since 10 is reaching end of life support, but wanted the most reasonable measure to do so. Reusing my mainboard with this CPU was the option for me. It arrived well packaged, brand new seal just as advertised. No issues installing, simple as can be. I've been a fan of AMD since the original Athlon Socket A CPUs decades ago, they still perform beyond expectations and handle years of harsh use (with proper cooling).

Excelente servicio y calidad!

FPS Doubled
Upgraded from a ryzen 5 3600 and my FPS doubled!! I bought a 4070 super and was very unimpressed with my change in FPS. Turns out my CPU was bottlenecked. This purchase will give me a few more years out of my AM4 motherboard

Good Upgrade for those with older AM4 systems.
Noticed my 3700x falling off after upgrading to a 9070xt. Without upgrading your whole system this a perfect middle ground. Mine runs a bit hot out of the box But it keeps up reasonably with modern games.

Best upgrade i've made in a while
Coming from a 5600x (which is still a great budget cpu) this was a very satisfying upgrade. I was looking for something to help with games that were a bit more cpu intensive. And overall just looking for a decent upgrade. Well this sure did the trick! The 5700x3d absolutely shreds anything I throw at it.Thermals idle in the 30's, mostly stays in the 40-50c range during gaming and has only ever peaked around 65c with heavy load. My case fans used to ramp up a lot more before (even in smart mode with PWM enabled, curves, etc.) Again, not that the 5600x is bad (you served me well old buddy!) But with the 5700x3d being so efficient my overall system hardly breaks a sweat now.The power consumption of the 5700x3d is a little higher than the 5600x, but more stable and less spikey. I'm so glad I finally upgraded and I won't be looking back. AMD scores another win in my book.

coming from 3600x is night and day
as last CPU upgrade for AM4 socket and my X570 motherboard going from 3600X that i had for 4 years to 5700X3D.i could immediately see the difference in how snappy the whole pc was in loading apps and games or even in file explorer.paired with 4070TI super i instantly got an fps boost of 30%-60% vs 3600X.this CPU is totally worth it if your on older AM4 CPUs

Awesome upgrade from an R5 3600
Upgrading from a Ryzen 5 3600 to this Ryzen 7 5700X3D was a VERY nice improvement in FPS on my gaming experience using a Nvidia 4070 Super on 3 1080p monitor setup. A much "snappier" windows experience and I think I can get away a few more years without having to build a new system with this upgrade. Highly recommend this CPU for an upgrade to your existing hardware.
