Easy to use...open box, plug it in.
Very nice, compact and unobtrusive. Seems to be sturdily built. Good price, too!I wish it had a slightly longer cord, but I also like the fact that the cord is stored underneath in its own place. (Probably why they didn't make it longer).I have not yet used it for a Blu-ray disc; however, it works flawlessly for DVDs so far.

Effortless installation, just plug and play, no drivers, etc., to fool with!
I recently purchased a Dell 15 inch laptop but it does not have a DVD drive, which I do need on occasion, and it is skimpy with just 3 USB and 1 Type C ports (most of the time it "acts" as a desktop with external keyboard, mouse, and monitor which take up 2 of its 3 USB ports. Thus, I have been in the market for an external DVD/CD drive and this 7 in 1 External Blu-ray Drive grabbed my attention with its impressive capabilities coupled with its 2 USB 3.0 ports, 2 Type C ports, 1 SD card slot, 1 TF card slot, so I decided to buy it. Set up took like 5 seconds - just plug into either a USB or a Type C port my laptop, and it was immediately recognized and ready for use. No drivers or anything else to install. I first put in an audio CD and it played the songs and I listened to the music over headphones connected to the USB 3.0 port on the player without having to use my last USB port on my laptop. Next I put in a wedding DVD and played MP4s and they looked great as I expected them to. My final test was to load software purchased on a DVD, namely TurboTax, because when I buy software, I prefer having it on a DVD versus a download. And that worked fine. This device has enormous capability with its Blue-ray 3D features and should perform well for anyone with those needs, but I do not presently have the need for those advanced features although I do like having that capability should the need ever arise. Bottom line, I'm very impressed with this 7 in 1 External Blu-ray Drive and believe it fills an important role next to my new laptop, and the price is VERY reasonable!

Why won’t it play on windows 11 read and find out!
Works great but can be a little tricky to get it up and started if you are not good with troubleshooting. It is not compatible with windows 11 media player. Had to do a lot of troubleshooting and researching to figure out how to make it work didn’t want to return it and wait for a new one since I needed it for work. The work through I figured out is that you can download POWERDVD from the Microsoft store and it worked great once installed. So other then that no issues so far.

Was not even recognized by either of my Laptops, even also connecting separate power cable
The purpose for buying this drive was to be able to rip, make an exact digital copy of my, old DVD movies and TV-shows that have not even been remastered to Blu-ray, and then my Blu-ray movies and TV-shows, that have still not been remastered to UHD. Then using Topaz Video AI 5, I would remaster them all myself to UDK (4K). I have two fairly new and powerful Laptops, both running latest version of Windows 11 64-bit. Connecting this drive to either Laptop, and trying to reboot, this drive could NOT be recognized by Windows! I immediately returned this drive. Before that I had tried the Alphami External Bluray DVD Drive, Ultra Slim USB 3.0 and Type-C Portable Blu-ray USB DVD Drive and although it could read DVD-R's I had burned with videos myself, it was unable to read a single copy protected DVD. Yes I used a separate USB power cable. After that disappointment, I did not bother trying a Blu-ray disc. I also returned that one. Finally I got the ASUS BW-16D1HT and Vantec NST-536S3-BK NexStar DX enclosure, and Eureka it's reading all the disc's I tried so far!

Best Drive for the Modern Era
Now that CD-ROMs and DVD players are kind of non-existent, I was always wondering how I'm going to use my DVDs and Blu-Rays with my computer.Found this product on Amazon accidentally and realized it's a product I actually needed. One of the best parts is that it also is a DVD burner, so I can even back up my Mac to an optical disk. Which I'm still a big fan of!Anyway, I love how they have the external ports for USB and SD card. This is awesome because I haven't tried it yet, but I'm going to be able to move my pictures from the SD card directly to DVD.Lightweight and travel-friendly the only thing I wish it had was a little bit longer cables.

Very short usb connection
UPDATE October 7, 2024 - Unit stopped working. Power light not turning on - tried several different computers. I will not be buying this one again. This unit has some interesting additions with onboard 2 usb and 2 usb-c ports. Most bluray burners do not have this feature so this is a plus for limited usage / power requirement items. What is concerning is the actual usb / usb-c connection cable is very short and you'll need to plug in both the usb and usb-c connections to get the unit to work and there is not much cable on these so you'll need ports together on your computer/laptop for them to work. Luckily I did have such space.I am using my bluray burner as long term storage burns for files that don't need to be on a hard drive and the speed is slightly less than what I am used to with a double usb connection on a burner that I replaced that had gone belly up. Since this is purely an archival unit for me, the speed is not a deal breaker.I will report back on this on longevity but the overall unit seems nice enough though I do find the bluray drawer to be slightly hesitant to lock requiring multiple attempts. Right now it works. Not sure how durable this will stay.
