Not Bad For the Money
I will start by saying I currently have 9 of these Amazon Basics bulbs installed and working perfectly. Because they are much better priced than a famous name brand that are more than double in price, I am slowly replacing all of my soft white only bulbs with these color changing bulbs. My first 9 bulbs set up and installed with no problems at all. Here are my thoughts on the brightness of these bulbs. When set to "soft white" they are just as bright as the name brand bulbs. Using all of the color settings or the tunable white settings they are not as bright as the name brand color bulbs. That does not mean they have an unacceptable brightness, they are just not as bright as the name brand. Now on to the next batch of these bulbs I ordered. I ordered a box of four and not one of them would complete setup no matter what I did. Alexa would recognize the bulb and then attempt to pair it with my wi fi. Not one of the four bulbs would connect to my wi fi after several attempts. I am attaching the message it gave me. I was disappointed and am sending the bulbs back. I am reordering two bulbs to see if I got a defective batch. If the reorder does not connect I will return them and order no more. I had erased the "Hue" bulbs so I could use them in the future. I decided to go ahead and reinstall them and they connected perfectly. That tells me there is something wrong with these 4 Amazon bulbs. I'm hoping it was just a defective lot.UPDATEThe two bulbs I just ordered arrived and they both connected and are working. One bulb set up pretty easily. The second bulb took four attempts before it finally set up with my wi fi. I don't understand this. In addition one of my previously set up bulbs that was working lost connection and stopped working. Alexa could not operate it saying it was not responding. I reset the bulb to factory settings and there is no way that I can get it to set up again. It asks me for my wi fi password and constantly tells me the password is incorrect. My password is correct. Then I got to thinking that it was using the password that Amazon had recorded and they had made a mistake with my password. I went to my Amazon account and disabled that feature they use to pre setup your installation and then I deleted my wi fi password from their records. Then I took the bulb and erased it again and started fresh with it. Alexa recognized the bulb and asked me for my wi fi password to complete installation. I input my correct password again and it still told me it was incorrect and would not set up. By now I am frustrated and gave up and will not order anymore bulbs. I don't know what the problem is but they either work or they don't. It is hit or miss and I have had it with them. So I do have 10 currently working bulbs. And 4 bulbs returned for not working and another 4 I have at home that won't connect, one of which was working but stopped and will not reconnect no matter what you do. So I have 10 bulbs that work and 8 that won't work. That is a bad ratio for me so I will not buy anymore. I have never had any problems at all connecting a Phillips Hue bulb. This is a shame because the Amazon bulb is much less and while not as bright as the hue bulbs color wise, they are very acceptable for the price. Maybe if they work out the kinks I might order some more in the future. The problem is in the wi fi connection area. I suggest not using Amazons pre wi fi set up when ordering the bulbs because if they do make an error the bulb is not going to connect.UPDATEThese are the most frustrating bulbs I have ever dealt with. I don't know if it is the bulb itself or if the problem is with Amazons prefiguring them with my wi fi password. The app finds the bulb and connects it. Then it tries to connect with my wi fi and they just won't connect. I have tried to override and manually put in my password and occasionally one will connect and work. But 9 times out of 10 they won't connect to my wi fi. I do have several bulbs that did connect. But all of the additional bulbs I have ordered will not connect. There is no tech person to talk with so you are really on your own and I have tried every possible solution to connect them. If you can get them to connect they work fine. Not one Phillips Hue bulb has ever given me a problem.SECOND UPDATEIn order to be fair to this light bulb I have discovered that the problem I encountered above with these bulbs was not the fault of the bulbs but rather my internet service. It turns out that I overloaded my gateway with many smart bulbs, echo devices, smart plugs, thermostat, garage door, Blink Cameras and iPads and iPhones. I discovered that I had a total of 47 items attached to my wi fi system. 800mps could not handle all of that so I upgraded to a top tier service and my speed is now 1200. All of my items function with great speed and the bulbs that I could not get to connect now work. I'm upgrading my score to 4 stars. I would have given them 5 stars but they don't get as bright as other top bulbs. They are however very adequate and they work well.

Super convenient and easy to set up!
This light was so easy to hook up and works perfectly with Alexa. I can turn it on and off with voice commands and even adjust the brightness, which is super handy. It’s great for creating the right mood in the room. Definitely a smart and convenient upgrade!

So much better easier to install
I’ve had Kasa TP-Link light bulbs since 2013 and they finally died. These Amazon Basic light bulbs are so much easier to install and get up running. No more third-party app or having to make sure it’s connected. Just twist the bulb into the light, open the Alex app and turn the light bulbs on. I still have all the colors and options without the hassle. Once I turn the light on, Alexa found, recognized, and installed the light bulbs. The only thing I had to do was scan the code which Alexa did from the app so I didn’t have to use a separate app to scan it. The size of the bulb is a little smaller but still works great. After all the design is better from back in 2013. The bright white is perfect for my living room snd the soft white is great for the bedroom. I love creating routines and letting Alexa to turn on or change the lights. I have a light in the living room, computer desk, and bedroom all connected to Alexa.

Extremely easy to set up
Set up it under 3 minutes!!! I have purchased many smart bulbs but these are Genius bulbs. No app to set up. No jumping back and forth from app to setting screen. A great product that works with Alexa. I will be purchasing more for my other lamps. I highly recommended these.

Great when they work, but bad warranty solutions.
When they work, they work pretty well. However, after 9 months of use, one of the bulbs has started to turn off by itself (still connected to WiFi and listed as "on" in the Alexa app). Changing that defective bulb out with another of these smart bulbs (as I only originally used 3 of the 4) has confirmed that this issue is with the bulb itself.Note on warranty: Amazon lists a 1 year coverage period for non-consumable Basics products. However, when I contacted support to replace this single bulb, the only solution I was offered was to return all 4 bulbs in order to be credited a refund. As the other 3 work fine and are in an area of my home that I use frequently, this was not worth it to me, but I do not think it is a great solution, so I am listing it here for other potential buyers.
