American Standard 1029070000 Spectra Versa Retrofit Shower System with Rain Showerhead, 1.8 GPM, Polished Chrome

Installed this about 3 weeks ago. Every part needed was there, including the strait piece which you need to connect to the water outlet pipe (if your old one angled down like mine). The core of this unit is actual metal and brass. Only the two shower heads are plastic.I removed the 4 flow restrictors mentioned in one of the other reviews and I can't believe the difference between this new one and the one I replaced.Originally, I was tempted to buy one of the cheaper units on Amazon but I'm beyond happy I chose this one.

Best shower head from one of the best brands.

New design is better! We purchased it to replace the old one which had a push button. The push button no longer worked and we couldn’t switch from the overhead to the handheld shower head.

The shower system is great and I personally love the style, but make sure you buy the valve too, it's not included and when I tried to buy it, it came without the cartridge.

Licensed Plumber review. Very happy with the quality of the product. The shower system is mostly made of solid metal, with a very smooth functioning diverting knob, smooth sliding slide bar, and smooth hand held toggle switch to change modes. Also, Most IMPORTANTLY I removed all 4 of the “flow restrictors” in order to allow for maximum water pressure and volume. We were very satisfied after doing this, I could see why people in the reviews are complaining about the pressure being so low, but after simply removing the restrictors the shower system functioned very well! As mentioned in the title: Easy install, works great, looks good. The knob to switch between the rain and the movable shower head feels really nice when it clicks. Happy with the purchase. Only thing is that if you’re not drilling into the wall, the double sided tape to stick the bottom to the wall is useless, you’ll want to use a dab of silicone to hold it in place.

Please save your money. You will end up looking for a different shower head once you install it. The water pressure is way too low even after removing the restrictors from the shower heads. I assume they have additional restrictors that are harder to reach/find.We've had it for over a year and hoped we'd get used to it but it's just not a functional shower head, specially at this price point.

I bought this to replace a shower tower system. My handyman didn't have any trouble installing it at all. We did have to purchase a shower handle to go with it as well as a valve. It's such a huge improvement from my old system. I mainly use the wand as it's big enough to be used as a stand alone shower. The amount of water is sufficient and there's no dripping after shut off. It also looks so slick and awesome. Glad I made the switch.
