Good starting point.
The title is definitely true.I am a total beginner. I have never played trumpet but I always wanted to. My kids are in their school band starting out and I thought it would be fun to learn a instrument and play along with them practicing at home.Although I didn’t finish all of the lessons in 14 days, because of time constraints. I did finish all the courses in less than a month. But I could definitely see someone finishing this course in 14 days or even faster. This book is absolutely worth it!

There is a good section, with photos, on maintenance
This book contains a lot of good information on how to learn trumpet and the most important thing is practice. There is a great section on how to maintain your trumpet and a lot of good fingering information. The book suggests that you practice one hour a day which is good advice but perhaps, for beginners, the one hour should be distributed throughout the day otherwise your lips might get sore. I really recommend the book.

Smple
I used to play a trumpet and quit when I went into the army in 1965. I haven't played since then but wanted to get back into it so I bought the book. It is good for someone that never played before, but you will need to keep up with it as noted in the book because a beginner needs to develop your lip mussels which will get soft if you don't continue.

Great first book
I am going back to playing trumpet after a 50 year hiatus, using a Yamaha EZ-TP MIDI’d to a collection of synths. The lessons got me back up to speed in a month, ready to move to more advanced lessons to play mostly jazz.

Breaks it down; makes it simple
I know I have a long way to go, but this book helped me get familiar with the trumpet fast as an adult learner.

horrible exercises
The exercises in this book feel like an author trying to be original and make a quick buck instead of giving good exercises to work with regularly. This is my 6th instrument so I am familiar with beginner books and buying this one was a mistake. I wound up buying one that is popular with school band teachers and the difference is night and day. If I saw this in a store and flipped through it myself I could have quickly seen how unprofessional this book is. This is not a book a teacher or real musician would ever give to their students.
