For when your purse doesn't have a travel sleeve.
It worked great holding my Christmas purse to my rolling bookbag without the need of a travel sleeve.

Really awesome travel accessory - am purchasing a second one for my husband
This thing is awesome! I used it to secure a very stuffed eBags TLS mother lode weekender convertible jr backpack weighing about 25 lbs to the top of my travelpro 21 inch carry on size spinner suitcase. it maneuvered seamlessly through multiple airports and down the airplane aisles. Given the weight on top i did have to hold my backpack a bit to push the suitcase over large bumps/gaps and things that would "shake" the bag on top and cause the bag on top to lean or slide by jostling it - but the bungee held firm and I did not have any issues with the bag sliding or moving when I was wheeling my suitcase across relatively flat surfaces. The bungee material is of a sturdy quality from what I can tell and I did not feel it was pushed beyond its limits at any point. I think the height of your telescoping suitcase handle and the placement of said handle on the top of your suitcase will affect your success especially in considering how big of a bag you can fit on top. If the suitcase handle comes out of the back/edge of the suitcase that is ideal for "surface area" on top on which to rest the bag you are putting on top. Also, you do need a grab handle (or some other attachment point) on that same top suitcase surface to secure the bottom of the bungee. If the bag you want to put on top of your suitcase is taller than the telescoping suitcase handle, I don't think the bungee will work unless you can compress the bag to be shorter - this is due to how the bungee loops over the top of the bag to attach to the telescoping suitcase handle. I honestly don't understand reviewers saying this thing is difficult to use... the video showing you how to attach it is spot on and i was able to clip it on to my suitcase and secure my bag to the top in about 30 seconds. When i needed to take it off due to a forced gate check of my carry on it was off in less than 30 seconds and stuffed in the front pocket of my suitcase. My husband eyed it jealously and I am now purchasing a second one for him.

Great Idea, but Doesn't Work With Every Bag
I bought this in anticipation of going on a long cross-country flight for a business trip. I have the Samsonite Xspace 21.5" carry-on and laptop tote, and I was looking for a way to keep the smaller laptop tote on top of the carry-on while going down the plane aisle and while in the airport. They're both spinners and for whatever reason, even though the laptop tote perfectly fits on top of the carry-on, Samsonite didn't manufacture a fabric sleeve to slide over the telescoping handle and thus attach the second bag. I thought this bag bungee was the perfect solution, and it nearly was. The only problem is that the bungee is only adjustable to a certain point, and it was quite frankly not big enough for my laptop tote. I was able to make due with it, but it only stretched enough to barely slip the bungee cord over the very top of the telescoping handle, thus making the bag very susceptible to falling off if not handled carefully. It still worked, but I can see where there would be room for improvement. I am keeping it, however, because I have another set of luggage that this works better for (I tested it out and no problems at all). I also think it might work for a large purse/tote to be strapped onto the carry-on, and it was only around $12 after all. I think that this is ideal for those with smaller totes or boarding bags, and the idea itself is great. The construction seems very sturdy and the instructions are printed right on the strap so you won't ever forget how to use it. I'm keeping mine for other bags and uses, but I sure do wish it would've worked out for my favorite luggage.

If you travel kids, get it.
Works great. I was able to bind my daughter’s carry on and booster seat to my carry on and free her and one of my hands up. Made it so much easier getting through the airport.

Works, but a bit hard to use
Works but clunky and difficult to get the hang of. Once it's on it does hold the bag well!

Easy, one-handed bungee that holds tote on very stable and securel.
I've just returned from a trip and used this for the first time. Although I cannot speak for durability, I will say that this simple bungee was a huge help and very nice addition to my roll-a-board carry on bag. I used to typically balance my tote/handbag on top of the roll-a-board and try to sort of wrap my purse strap around the suitcase handle. Whenever I stopped, I would have to either keep hold of the handles, or switch the purse to my shoulder. I would do so because it wasn't stable to sit on top of the suitcase on its own. For security reasons, even though I would be sitting right next to my suitcase in the gate area, I didn't feel it very safe to just have my purse sitting loosely on top of the suitcase. This bungee attaches very easily with the clip/strap on to the suitcase carry handle. The fact that it stays attached even when you release the other end to remove your tote, means that you don't need two hands to do so. I've seen people use regular bungee cords for this same purpose. Although the end result is similar, when you release the tension to remove the tote, you end up with a loose bungee cord that you need two hands to manage. You may not wish to keep this strap connected to the suitcase when not using, but at least it doesn't fall to the floor when you need to remove your tote. My particular Travelon suitcase happens to have a small zipped pocket at the top front of the suitcase. Handily, I found that I can just unzip this pocket and slip this bungee strap right inside while still keeping the strap clipped to the carry handle. I wouldn't leave it this way if I were to check the suitcase, but for going through security, stowing in the overhead bin, or once in the hotel room, this is handy so I don't misplace the bungee.

Easy and convenient travel accessory
This strap saved me on a recent trip on my own with my 4-year old daughter. I strapped her carry-on bag on top of my rolling bag to get us through the airport and still have a hand free to roll her in her car seat (we have a cart for her seat and can use it like a stroller through the airport until we gate check it). The best part about it is that when she decides she doesn't want to wear her jacket I can just stuff it under the straps on top of the bag and it's secure but still very handy if she decides she wants it again and I don't have to keep opening to my carry-on to put it in and take it out. It also worked really well for the car seat gate check bag to be stuffed under it until I needed it again at the next gate for our connecting flight. Very easy to use and tucks easily into an outside pocket of my carry-on bag to be easily accessible. It made traveling on my own with a pre-schooler so much easier.
