Smaller in reality than it appears here
I had a previous meat thermometer that was more chunky than this one, but it gave up the ghost so time for a new one! This one although smaller and a bit lightweight works well and displays the temperature clearly. it would be nice if it were more sturdy but it was pretty cheap so I guess you get what you pay for.

Perfect
A very basic simple sturdy probe. You stab the point into a thick part of the meat and the dial's needle rotates to indicate the temperature. There is a useful clear indication on the dial of which meats are safe at the temperature. This, of course, is only indicating a safe-to-eat meat temperature and not if the meat has reached a desired cooking state (rare to well done etc). At just under 5 inches long its an easily stowed size and at £6 its a bargain

Does not work. I have never gotten it to ready anything above the first temp line, even after the meat had been cooking for well over an hour and even if I stuck the probe in all the way and waited for several minuets it never went past the 130 line. I Ruined a good roast. Washed and tried again several times. Never worked.
